Spec: Spam E-mail Observation.

Folks, just did some rechecking.
This is NOT the first time that Dale has received a threatening e-mail from someone making use of blindmailerproxy.com

http://www.synthasia.com/secure/mes031303m1.htm

And according to this..
http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=640
He also received one on the 19th of february??

Looks like we forgot to catelogue that one, and it's no longer available. Unless one of the other sites has it logged. Hope they do, because if what the message on UF says it's true, then we know that it's the Marzano's.

Most likely Frank.
Sal and Marco are the muscle, Frank is the brains, whilest the Don is the head of the family, though for how long remains to be seen.

In addition. Guess what I found while looking for the home base of that e-mail addy..

http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=blind+mail,+proxy,+com&spd=blindmailer,+proxy,+com&ei=UTF-8&vm=i&n=20&fl=0

Check out Proxy Blind..

To quote Moe from the Three Stooges...
Oh a wise guy eh.. Let's give the numbskulls a little gift. Twisted Evil

Does anyone have an e-mail for Frank??
Or should we just send it to Sal?? Twisted Evil

Here is a copy of the email from Feb 19th:

Subject: Did you think we forgot about you?

Poor little Dale,

Hey, you didn't think we forgot about you and your little debt did you? Not a chance.

And with that insurance money coming, you should have no problem in paying. You
managed to dodge your last deadline. You won't be so lucky next time.

your friends

I'd noticed that blind mailer thing a while back, but it just made sense, since they would be camoflauging their mail.

I just noticed something in the from address

SOD at the end? I wonder if those first letters are just part of the blindmailer protocol

True, but using the same program over and over does leave us a nice little pattern. Personally, I would've shifted from program to program, only going back tot he first if enough time has lapsed. Makes it more difficult to detect a pattern..

Seems like dumb luck to me that those three letters ended up in that particular order. Damned shame that Dale hasn't set his e-mail account to be a bit more verbose when it comes to the origins of an e-mail.

Certain programs only hide the name of the e-mail. Not the IP. If we had that, then we could do a trace and see if they all hail from the same place. Even if that means we only find out that it all hails from the same building as in which the blind proxy guys have set up shop.

Least we'd know.
