The Cube / Perplexcity, beginners LOOK HERE

Because there are and will be several new people who start Project Syzygy, Perplexcity, The Cube or whatever you want to call it half way through due to the firebox catalogue entry, I would like to post this topic helping me and any other newbies by asking just what project syzygy was, has accomplished and what clues/characters have been already given.

It would also be helpful to know what kind of things we should expect from this kind of game, although as "Sente" so eloquently put it;
"this is not a game".

Finally it would be good to put to rest all this speak of the "substantial financial reward" for us newbies since "Sente's" entry and the Firebox clue say that a reward is offered.

I also recently found Perplexcity, through Firebox, and have been trying to catch up the last couple of days.
Trailing through all the topics finding all the clues so far, whilst trying to keep them in chronological order so you don't get mixed up, and also trying out the URLs (a lot of which are now broken) was a bit hectic. However, yanka has a nice primer that is very helpful.

Yes I HIGHLY suggest all newbies (like me) check out that primer. Even if you think you know what is going on .. it will help put the pieces together.
One question.. what is all the talk of "e" values and numbers?

The name of this directory is basically a sequence of the first 10 digits of e. There are also 10-digit filenames in this directory. Wishi-san found that they are also 10-digit strings of e (you can find these sequences here. For a while we were puzzled by them, trying to find some pattern in the choice of sequences that were used (or, alternatively, in the ones that were missing). But then tanner proposed that the skipped strings are just there to separate the conversations.

P.S. I think this thread is a really cool idea, btw. It'd be nice to have a central place were "is this new?"-type-questions are directed to; and if questions are asked elsewhere, this would be an easy first place to look for answers Smile

This thread is awesome. It'll be good for the people that tranfer over from I Love Bees, which will hopefully be a lot. I know I am.

It'll be hard to keep track of two ARGs at the same time, though. Oh well, such is the price I pay for a great new gaming experience.

The cube

Hi, I have just encountered the cube via Firebox, and now this site. I am amazed that it has been around since the start of the year. It seems to be taking off now though. I have boomarked this site to keep up to date on what is happening.

Here I go again...

I fought the Beast for a while way back when - and now I find myself walking in on another game via that Firebox clue. I only ended up at Unfiction 'cause I was Googling the contents of the email caches at perplexcity...

So where did all this start?

Are you guys any closer to the truth?

Who is behind all of this?

Am I asking too many questions???

WHAT IS "THE CUBE"?

I like my profile.......

I don't understand this. Why are people reading so much into certain pictures and things when the game hasn't even started? Surely all clues etc will be given in the game? And I don't think any clues would be hidden around before hand to give certain people a head start as it isn't very fair.

I'll wait to receive an email from them first and then when the game begins I'll look at all the information presented by them and then start.

And you get a lead from Bevan about the Taxi Card in the Firebox photo. This Taxi card surely has a clue! I cant read the fax number on the card tho.

[edit] Modified this post to put very long URL in hyperlink. Fi
