this anything? Found it in the source, but being the dumb girlie I am I can't translate it.
Any ideas?
Hmm, first of all, I tried random passwords and usernames and after three tries I got to the "enter your e-mail" page. It didn't seem to matter if the username involved Kite or Black.Rose or Bear (like I tried). Just seemed to be the "three strikes and you're in" method.
Anyway, both the page where you enter your e-mail and the "thanks" page after entering the e-mail had 32 characters of numbers and letters commented out. I thought it might be connected to what misery_of_pain found, but after going back to that page and/or reloading, it was different stuff. So maybe it's randomly generated and just there to throw us off? Or something completely different... Just sharing what I noticed.

Not to jump in here, but it seems that this area is like a private discussion board for the .hack universe. There's nothing really ARGish up to this point, and the admin is trying to tell his members that he didn't get hacked and they didn't lose information or forum posts. So, in my opinion, I think we need to lay off of this until we can be absolutely sure it's a game (which, as of right now, I am pretty sure it's nothing more than just a secure fan website).

I disagree. The sign-up form looked distinctly ARGish. Which fansite makes 'address' a required form?

has anyone noticed three links under www.hiddenforbiddenholyground.com?
the left one says "wi-fi (why not?), the middle, "DOT (hack that is)", and the right," WRONG MOVIE! (nice try though!).
i'm not familar with dot hack so i don't know what any of this could mean.
if you click on New User Registration and try to registar you get sent to an error page saying the database is full. looking at the source of the page there is the and of a url /sounds/inactive.wav . add this to www.hiddenforbiddenholyground.com/sounds/inactive.wav and thers a 1 second wav file with three dings.

>_> Go to the second registration step (you can fill out the forum with anything at all) and you can see the end of some URL type thing at the bottom.

/xyzzy look familiar? A example used above on these forums. Whatever this page is, they know they've got our attention. BTW, go to the page hiddenforbiddenholyground.com/xyzzy the page was blank when it was referenced as a random example before.

Seeing as how they claim to log everthing, I'm sure they noticed some hits and attempts to break into the site all with the referrer address being this thread.

actually the reference above in this forum was to that page (xyzzy) at an ip address not at hiddenforbiddenholyground.com. i tried that link and it is still that wierd 404 error. are we sure that hiddenforbiddenholyground/xyzzy is new?
i'm not trying to argue the point ... i just want to make sure we aren't stating things as facts that might not be truly facts. if we do that we might go down wrong paths

It seems that "U" is random - it changes with each refresh of the page, whereas "P" and "E" are probably assigned to each IP? For example, I keep getting P=0846194111 E=be916480@HFHG.
It does seem that they stand for Username, Password, and Email, doesn't it? Email being xxxx@H iddenF orbiddenH olyG round.com. I tried to login with various combinations, and nothing worked, of course.
I don't think that this is going to be something very interesting - their Acceptable Use Policy leads me to believe that they are going to be giving a webpage/space and an e-mail acct to users... probably like a forum with extras. Btw, there is no way in hell that I would register to something that says "you are authorizing Hidden Forbidden Holy Ground to use this information, and any other you have or will provide, for processing your account membership and for any other purpose . You agree to accept all responsibility and consequences, if any, for our use of such information." Ahem.
On the other hand, why is it acting so weird?

Well as for 'Pi' bringing up 'wrong movie', Pi is a movie (with no relation to .Hack) but I can't see what the right one would possible be or what you would do with it if there was one.
Also, going to /address_book.php3 (from the source of the front page, under 'DO NOT CLICK THESE LINKS') leads to a huge list of emails with the supposed intent of fooling spambots with a huge list of fakes (only, uh, apparently some of them aren't. Another reason not to sign up I suppose...)

The PI symbol is in reference to the movie The Net starring Sandra Bullock. Supported by the address to that page being /net
