Sente's been notified. Got the standard bot-response, but hopefully he'll write back after reading it (I also promised to elaborate more on the Brotherhood of Nod, to which I coompared the Recons).

Oh, you guys! Continuing to trust Sente as an 'honest broker' ! But I figure you've told him what's up now, so the die is cast...
I don't think we can trust any of these Perplexians *one little bit*...but, hell, I'm just a paranoid...

Oh, and I wondered how long it'd be before the Duck and the Rabbit turned up somewhere!!
Curious, though: OOG, I'm a bit intrigued. Let's assume that Violet's new message was only on - screen for a short while, and has now vanished into the aether for good. Was this likely to have been on a timing mechanism (thereby running the risk of everyone missing it completely), or do we think it vanished after Quirky Acuity had recorded a certain number of user hits??
Don't know...
As to what's happened, could be the Recons got her, or maybe someone else has taken her away because they trailed her to the Recon compound?!
What's starting to worry me is that developments seem to be following in the wake of our discussions: either this means we're getting better at working out what the PMs had planned for the game all along, or it means that actions within the game are responding increasingly to our expectations for it. In which case, we'd better be careful what we're saying, or the Cube will turn out to be a multi - dimensional tesseract down the back of Sente's sofa any day now

I know this is unromantic and dull, and I hope I'm wrong, but did anyone consider there may be some OOG reason for the article vanishing? Maybe one of the PMs had posted it, but had to remove it because it clashed with something else?

Purely OOG, that's not impossible. It seems to have happened in the history of this ARG before - although you'd think they'd be more careful

but the thing is, that entry was not very desciptive on anything, so i don't see how leaving it up there would affect anything. (yet)
Then again, we shall see what happened, it could be just a computer problem, and it will be back up soon, or it may never be up, and it would be IG.

[OOG] I was kinda thinking that PM lurkers waited for the text had been posted here, then removed it.
[IG] Perhaps Violet's new friends contacted her and asked her to remove it. Thought I can't see why. Or perhaps Sente wasn't happy with his daughter beginning to post apparently pro-Recon things on a website with earth-access?

We know more about Dr. Kiteway than we do about the Reconstructionists. And what we do know about the Recons make me leery of them . . . besides, Dr. Kiteway's easier to contact than the Recons

It's possible Sente's purposfully limiting our knowledge of Recons - he does control the PC-Earth info link, afterall

Oh, I wasn't saying I trust the Recons. more than Sente. Just that I don't trust him either. But maybe you're right. 'The enemy of my enemy...' and all that...

The Recons kind of remind me of Opus Dei or [Insert Weird Scary Cult Here]...
But since, as already has been posted - she has posted again so we need not to worry...

I think we have Dan Brown to thank for that! Seriously, I'm not sure yet whether the Recons. are a big - bucks fundamentalist group with ties to banking and business (like Opus Dei) or a militant sect with armaments and survivalist tendencies (Branch Davidians), or a proselytising Church (like Scientology) or what the hell, frankly. Maybe a bit of all of the above.
And whether or not Violet's back 'safely' is another question...

The Recons remind me of the movie 'the matrix' and Morpheous's team or anyone that is in 'the real world' *shrugs*
Perhaps Violet has been replaced by a clone?
