Oooh! Perfect Dark was my first real video game!
You picked a good one to start on
Perfect Dark came out when my mom was still gung-ho about not wanting me to play first person shooters. I told her I was buying it anyway, did, and loved it to death. What I am wondering about this game is whether its story mode is going to commit to the completely intentional cheese of the original. I don't think I've seen any silly aliens yet, nor heard any mention of them. Are they going to get all serious with Joanna?
...c'mon, you can't do that.

I wonder if I'll have the President walking straight into my line of fire again?
One of the things that was really cool about PD's single player was how things you did in earlier missions would affect later ones, like how you escape in Area 51 changes whether or not you'll have assistance in CI Defense, or where you place the mine in Chicago changes your escape route.
That, and Counter-Op mode was awesome.

Two new pics: linky1 and linky2 .
Although small pics, you can see where it's getting close to Gears of War like some people that attended the close-doors E3 demo were claiming.

Good lord, that's beautiful.
Yeah, that's gonna be a winner, if it's anywhere near as fun as the original.

As long as they bring Elvis back, I'll be happy. PD without Elvis would be like Halo without Sgt. Johnson.

Since health isn't recoverable, even the most skilled players will eventually be brought down, regardless of how adept they are at taking cover and replenishing their shields.
Sounds good, no more kill fests by one uber-super player.

The combat roll is a diving somersault that can be done in any direction through pushing the R shoulder button and pressing in a direction on the left analog stick.
The one thinmg that I thought Halo2 was missing was an evasive option.
Quote:
Simply approach any structure large enough to hide behind and an 'A' icon will appear indicating that the player can go into cover mode to lean against or duck behind it.
Also sounds interesting, but I'm not sure how seamlessly they'll work switching to 3rd person and back. It works with driving/boarding vehicles (and using turrets) in H2, but I've seen it done really badly before as well.
And being able to join a game in progress... sweet... 'nuff said.

Well, if it's PD Zero, then Elvis won't be in it, since Joanna didn't meet him until she infiltrated Area 51 in the original. D'oh.

I felt so burned by the original. 20FPS is not enough.
