I think you're right. But I still feel it's a bit risky. It's pretty likely that they could get access to Earth Internet sites if they wanted - not only Sente and his daughters, but PPC Sentinel and several companies already have websites. So it seems like it isn't a strictly controlled thing. I am worried that she might get caught.

I don't think it'd be so easy for just anyone to get access to our internet, especially not the recons who (on the surface at least) seem to be pretty technophobic with their 40yr old communal keys.

The Academy, the main PPC site and both Kiteway daughters blogs are obviously coming through the Academy and their research. It has been specced (possibly confirmed, not sure) that the Sentinel's external edition is also being made available to us through the Academy and not directly. That leaves us with Whipsmart Ice (which has earth based designers and is tied into a Mind Candy produced puzzle card) and the Open Design Agency (which I assume is something to do with the fact that they are web designers for the pages the Academy provides to us and are also tied into a Mind Candy produced tourist guide). I don't particularly think any of these websites so far have been released directly from an outside company to us, unless there are any others I've forgotten? The only one I can't think of a reason for is the Cognivia one we've seen glimpses of but thats not officially in game yet. So I don't think Violet's in any trouble, unless any of us go shouting our mouths off Wink Does mean that whatever she posted up and subsequently deleted the other night was probably for our eyes only though.

rach =)

oh god, so to add to the misery of us not knowing if we are getting the right code, we now know it doesn't even matter if we do, since she's going to mis-type it. Gah

odd that a woman with such an affinity for words mis-spells one as simple as Compound...

Do you think it's a coincidence that she left out the 'o'..and then there's the Futures....

The Spider (April 11 - May 10)
Get a clue, buy a vowel, and otherwise perk up your ears. If one thing leads to another, where exactly do you think this chica is leading you? Oi, Perplexians, whatever it is that's got you so bothered, let's get over it by next week, m'kay?

There was another thread commenting on the 'oi' and 'm'kay' alluding to the character 'o' also.

It is, of course, interesting that we have another example of 'antiquated machinery' in use here (appropriately enough giving some security to some other pieces of antiquated machinery)...

Makes me wonder: is it simply the style of the puzzle - lock that's old fashioned, or the fact that you have a keyboard/password system?? If most modern Perplex security runs from keys (and it may well do - hence, 'K - locks' being disabled during the Academy break -in), then perhaps you don't have to access anything physically anymore within Perplex City. Security is purely remote access. Very interesting...
