In my return Image, I ran xsteg, and under a sensitivity of 4.7 I found that there was an image put in the picture using Jphide. Now I have never done these image decryption things but I am having a problem uncovering the image. I used jpseek, and when I finally worked out what I thought the password was, it gave me a document This has led me even deeper. I will inform you that this is the way to go to continue the game. don't have to worry whether or not this cindy is in game or not.

I sent in the appropriate photo to the appropriate address.

Photo I sent named: fromtheeyetothehand.jpg and weighing in at 99.8 kb
Photo I received back from Cindy named: 2_fromth_x007E_1.jpg and weighing in at 65.8 kb

So -clearly- something's been done, and clearly Cindy feels that the blank email, with just the attachment gives us enough information to move on to the next clue/stage.

Any crypto-types out there that can make sense of the jumbled name?

Stegdetect, checking for jsteg, jphide, outguess, and invisible all with a sensativity of 10.0 found nothing hidden in the new jpg file - I'm not sure if I'm using this program correctly.

Karl obviously found something hidden in his, but he doesn't seem to be sharing Smile

Steg047 also gives a negative reading for file modification - so I'm thinking the clue's in the new filename somehow.

So much for being clever...

*edit* - I've tried following "Karl"s process - xsteg at 4.7 sensativity ... and it detects nothing. I assume I'm screwing up though.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
It is possible to find a hidden message in your picture using jphide

If you want more than that I will need a request in writing

Ok I am spoilering a good hint for the password. mostly because I am at a loss for where to go now.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Keep in mind that since the picture is a custom made image of you, the password will be something only YOU and cinderella know.

after that you will have one more somewhat easy puzzle, and you will be in the same place as me.

Now help me!!

Thanks to Karl, I was able to figure this out. Like he said, use the jphide program. As for the password...

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
It's something you know. Think about what little information has passed between you and Cindy... It's definitely something that's been in e-mails between the two of you. More hints later if people go nuts or just want the answer. Very Happy

Okay here's what I did to use jphide, in case some people are confused by the program...

Run the jphswin.exe file, click the "open jpg" button, click the "seek" button, enter what you think is the password in both boxes (like e-mail confirmation on some sites where you do it twice), and when it asks what to save the hidden file as, just pick some name that you'll remember and save it as a .txt file. It's case sensative, so try with capitalizing the first letter as well as without. Hope this helps!

Karl - I think I'm as far as you are, do you have any idea what to do next?

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
I live in Amsterdam myself, so I called the number that was listed in one of the files out of curiosity - it actually is an existing number, a woman picked up and i heard a baby in the background. So that definitely has nothing to do with the game haha. Not that I expected it to be. Making phonecalls would go a bit far. Again, I was just curious to see if it was an existing number.

If anyone wants me to translate that email from 'de Archivaris', I'll gladly help.

As for the ...

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
e-mail, using the Bablefish website, the Dutch-to-English translation I got is thus:

"Wheel me a mail address where I your spullen must send to if you want them. Your guard word IDENTITY have been agreed, such as."

And the handwritten word is "Retrieved." This basically says that the old password is IDENTITY but, as the other information states, it's no longer operational.

On a side note, Karl and I found this:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
http://www.amazon.com/gp/registry/3VR4X3I01EFNK/ref=cm_aya_bb_wl/104-9854862-1553510

It's his wishlist on Amazon. We don't know what to make of it yet, and we're not sure if there's anything of importance there... One thing to note is that the second item says "OFFERED BY TARGET" in big red letters. Bakker is referred to as the Target by Cindy, so maybe that has some relevance...

And another thing, the PROFILE.JPG says "Client: confidential (AS)." AS=Arvin Sloane? The phone call log also mentions how Bakker is having problems with Sloane and how he can handle him.

Thanks go to both you and Karl! Very Happy

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Okay, so being new to all of this, I stupidly read the documents too quickly and missed the part about hiding surveillence, which led me to send an e-mail to de Archivaris, pretending to be interested in Henk's status as a security consultant. Hopefully, it won't cause any problems, but i doubt it'll lead us to any new information. Would be great if it did, though!

Got no ideas about what to do next, but this certainly is a lot of fun Smile

Ok, I have a lead.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
In the phone chat, when his gf asks what he wants for his birthday he tells her to check out that 'website with a wish list on it'. Sure enough, a Henk Bakker from Amsterdam has a wish list on Amazon. I'm not sure where to go next though
