Site: For Hylie

Thought I would start a new topic for this site since I am sure it will be more important later on.

Looking at the articles on the for hylie website I perused the is this a miracle article where one of the miracles listed was this:

The gene search that Methusalabs is now giving away for free can detect over 1200 genetic flaws and conditions.

Gene search reminded me a lot of the search for "the passenger" in season 3 was it? And the fact that this Pharmacuetical company is now giving something away for free, makes me think the whole thing is fishy!

My 2 yen

When I went to do a datacard drop for H. Meier (of Methusalabs), there was a switchup, and he had me meet with a wacky clown in the park, instead. You can check out my recap in page 6 of the datacard mission thread, but I did want to post here to say that the photo I took of the "For Hylie" ribbons I saw on the tree there was accepted by this particular website, and is currently in the gallery. Here is the email they sent me:

Dear Friend of Hylie,

Thanks so much for the picture! We're so thrilled to see that the ribbon
campaign has taken off and people are willing to share their efforts
with us. As you know, we are committed to getting as many children
tested and treated for genetic defects as humanly possible. Your effort
will help us get the word out to parents and children in your area.
People should know that hope and help are just a simple test away.

Your picture has been added to the gallery and can now be seen on our
web site under "Photos from Friends." Hylie can see your ribbons from
her hospital room, and now everyone knows that you are a true Friend of
Hylie. If you're interested in helping the cause in other ways, visit
our Help page for more information.

Thanks and God Bless,
Friends of Hylie

Cool couple questions. Did you name the file or did your camera, or did they name it when they put it up on their site. I find it interesting it has 47 in it. Is the file size different. possibly stegged. I put one of the digital ribbons on my homepage, you can check it out if you want at www.buttersjapan.com. I am so excited.

Well, it appears that all three jpeg images in the "Hylie Ribbons from Around the World" site are stegged, according to stegdetect. All show something with a sensativity of 4 or lower. The .gif files can't have something hidden, at least not with jphide (the program that seems to be the favorite here), so the other four images in that gallery aren't up for disection. Also, the ones from Methusalabs are all gifs, too, so those are also out. Now to figure out what the pass phrases are... That seems to be the issue we're having all around is that we can't get that part. Confused

[EDIT 1]: Well, just to check, I saved the image of Hylie at the window on the front page of http://www.forhylie.org/ and guess what friends and neighbors? Positive for jphide at a sensativity of 3! I'm thinking that maybe ALL the pics are stegged, and maybe they ALL have the same pass phrase. Could be wrong, though. Oy, we need to figure out the pass phrase(s)!

[EDIT 2]: Well, I've just tested all (I think/hope) of the images on the For Hylie site, and here's the files that I found to be stegged, and I believe all showed the jphide(*) with a sensativity of at most a 4, if not a 3 or maybe 2:

DSC01474.jpg, DSCF0043.jpg, and FORHylie2.jpg (ribbon photos from friends site, all saved from the bigger of the two size options listed under each thumbnail)
hyliebear-2.jpg ("About" part of the site)
hylwindow-little.jpg ("Home" page)
notfound.jpg (An interesting one... I found this on a 404 page when I went to the "News" part, then "Hylie's Favorite Messages" at the bottom, or http://www.forhylie.org/missives.htm)

The photo I sent was just over 2 MB, and was at a resolution of 2592X1728, and they did some compression, definitely, to bring it to 1024X768 and have it be 225kb.

Actually, no, the photo is 1024X683, now. Huh. (Which is actually the dimensions you'd get from shrinking down the 2592X1728, so whee)
