[SPEC] Chicago mission 6/4/05

Just thought I'd start a thread for spec on what we'll be doing and where we'll be going for the Chicago mission.

I just received an email saying that I'd subscribed to a Jam Productions newsletter, which I don't recall subscribing to. Jam is a concert promoter, so I've got a suspicion that the mission will take place at one of their events, and we were added to the newsletter when our tickets were reserved for us. Have any of the other Chicago retrievers gotten this same email today?

The only show Jam is producing in the Chicago area this saturday - the previously spec'd Kraftwerk show. Could it be?!

Of course, I might've been subscribed to this newsletter some other way....

Not I.

I did. But I've bought tickets from Ticketmaster in the past few months (U2, Garbage & NIN).

It may be just a new marketing deal between Ticketmaster & Jam (until recently known as Clear Channel promotions).

I'm still voting Kraftwerk. It's too perfect.

Matt

If Kraftwerk is indeed the venue, then I hope they've taken into consideration the communication difficulties the team had at Coachella. It's nigh on impossible to hear a phone ringing at a gig, so can I suggest the obvious and make sure everyone has theirs set to vibrate?

As well as getting a signal.

I am not sure what sort of reception one can get inside the Riviera. I don't think I've ever brought a cell in there. It's one of those older movie houses converted to a standing room mid-size venue for concerts.

I've talked on the phone at the riv.. signal isn't an issue, but actually hearing can be unless you go out by the bars and stuff.

I really seriously don't expect it to be there, but I'd be ecstatic if it were. Still no new info though... I hope they tell us soon so I can figure out how long it'll take me to get wherever i need to be and figure out the parking situation and stuff.

I got an e-mail reply from Nisha...I'm out. But technically on standby if they need a fill in.

Sad

Got my reply...

OK you're in. Gunter is crazy but I don't think he'll try anything with
a group of us to confront him. There's safety in numbers, right?

I'll let you know as soon as Gunter tells me exactly where and when to meet.

Send me a photo of yourself so I'll know who to look for.

I haven't heard from Nisha yet... Hopefully, I'll hear from her soon.

EDIT: I hate the spam folder... Her message was hiding in there.

Maybe you guys will have to chase down Gunter and corner him and you'll get to watch as Nisha tortures information out of the criminal... that would have an everlasting effect on all ya'll's brain and make you always think of this game! Or maybe that's what I would do if I were a PM... Wahahahahaha!!!

Got my email!

Quote:
Gunter left a message earlier tonight with the meeting place. The South
Branch Marina. Looks to be at 2301 South Union Ave

http://maps.google.com/maps?q=2301+South+Union+Ave+chicago&spn=0.005332,0.010439&t=k&hl=en

Lets meet there at 9pm Sat night, an hour before Gunter told me to be
there. I have some little surprises for Gunter.

Since the heist plans is so huge it might be helpful if each one of us
concentrates on 1 area so we can "quiz" Gunter on stuff we know better.

You wanna take the forgers? Look over the stuff listed about them,
maybe print the pages from the sd cards out and have it with you
tomorrow night.

I'm in. I'll see you guys tomorrow night. Smile

Hey, Varin, did you want to meet for dinner or something beforehand? Any of y'all? That might be kinda fun, and um, you all can fill me on stuff I am still learning very quickly.
