[XBOX] Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath Anyone played this game? Reviews I've seen are very high scored, and it looks like the gameplay is of the quirky style I tend to enjoy. Plus, its less than $30 new a lot of places.
Just looking for some firsthand opinions before I invest.

I almost bought this game the other day, because I love all the games in the Oddworld series.
I have been known to sit and make Abe fart at Munch for a good twenty minutes at a stretch, because it pretty much never fails to make me laugh.
"Dude, that's just not right."

I remember playing the first one back on the PS1 and loving it. Somehow I'd kind of lost track of the series till now, but I'm thinking I'll pick up Stranger's Wrath on lunch break today. Gotta have something to do till my router arrives and facilitates XBL

Yeah! I still have those -- I remember a couple years ago, printing out every single hidden room pathway so I could catch all the stuff I never really thought could be there, the first time around.
Some of the Arbiter/Covie dudes in Halo remind me of the Sligs, with their finger-like mouth protuberances and all.
Grah. Now I really wanna get this game, because I am thinking about how fun and full of attitude the whole series has been.

Ugh, while looking into this game some more just now, I noticed that all future Oddworld games have been cancelled
But on the up side, the studio who made them is apparently concentrating on movie options now.

just scooped it up on my lunch break (along with Burnout 3, now a mere $19.99!). I'll report back in late tonight or tomorrow with a review.

I really enjoyed this game as a rental. It's style is very must typical of the entire Oddworld series with more of an Old West sensibility to it, and Stranger has very compelling and earthy motivations to keep the plot moving.
Recommended.

I've been highly enjoying the game thus far. I'm on the last bounty, though I'm willing to bet that isn't the end of the game.
My only quibble is that the 3rd person view isn't extraordinarily useful. I spend probably 90% of the time in first person. The "live ammo" is just so much fun that I can't bear to play any other way.
I'm also impressed by the graphics - some of the best I've seen on the Xbox.
