Nah, you don't have to email anyone to get DC to answer you.

Still waiting

Im waiting for DomeCentral to come back online. Im thinking maybe its time to go to sleep but with my luck that is when they will come back on. I went ahead and emailed them thinking it had to be done but there is no way they could know if you emailed them or not when you add them to AIM. I have read almost everything I can in all the forum topics relating to City of Domes and hope that when I am finally contacted on AIM I can pass the quiz. Im looking for a copy of Logans Run to watch because up untill now I have never heard of the movie. But this sounds way fun so Im in for sure.

DomeCentral likes to sit on AIM invisible as well, so if you see him away click and check his info just to make sure. If it says he's not avaliable then he's not online but if you get his profile, go for it!

You were right and DC was wrong... that was a bit stupid of them. I guess you'll have to try again later?

The purpose of Carousel is to manage the population growth in a closed ecological system....but Mother Computer wouldnt admit to that.Smile
Try a new answer, DC is trying to teach you something.

Finally

It may have been an issue with my internet, the storms have it acting all strange, perhaps my answer didnt go through. After getting it to work this last time,

Quote:
DomeCentral: Welcome, Do not share this
communication or citizenship will be revoked.

DomeCentral: Previouse attempts you were too slow...

I guess it was just my connection.

Edit: I hope this isnt considered sharing the communication. After all that it would be so crappy to have it taken away.

Also labfly mentioned their password having relevence to their life, thats way freaky because mine is tha same way. And as far as I know they know nothing about me.

What else would you describe this as?
They're totally telling us to quit sharing the quiz info, maybe other communication as well.
I'm not sure how much secrecy they require to make this game work, but I'm definitely taking it into account in the way I play.

1) UNFORUM and #cityofdomes is considered OOG, the "rules" state that PMs cannot consider what happens in here (and there) and are not suppose to respond to that.

2) definitely sounds like out in the open of COD (like in any AIM chat or interaction with a COD character) we are to keep mum!

3) This reminds me of what AWARE was trying to do - get "teams" pitted against eachother, with their own separate accessible websites and puzzles for communication with one "team" as the winner at the end. And not sharing information with anyone on the other team, even OOG. However, IU opened up their forum for game characters to communicate with the "players" so spec and OOG stuff couldn't be posted where ingame characters were also posting - since, to them, TINAG.

You know, I realize that these forums are supposed to be considered "OOG" for the PMs, and it's "against the rules" to use them for information in-game PMs, but really.... Why do the PMs have to follow that?

If the PMs are not posting here, but they're using information here in the game, what's going to happen? Unfiction is going to ostricize the PMs of City of Domes and force people to stop playing it? I don't think so.

UF doesn't control what the PMs do or not do, and as long as they're not posting here, that's about the extent that UF has control.

If the PMs decide they're going to use information here as information in the City of Domes, then they can. I'd stop posting character information, private emails, etc.... in this forum, unless you really want to go through renewal.

lets not be too hasty to keep mum - its not neurocam!! also, the PMs are allowed to be able to read and react to us here in the forum to monitor etc (otherwise how will they know when to give us appropriate hints!) -- from what i understand its mean to be indirect.

I can understand that it's "meant" to be indirect, but when it comes down to it, the PMs don't have to keep it that way.

If they were posting here and having player interaction, that would be against the forum rules, and UF could do something about it. But if the PMs want to use any information posted here either for or against the players, both indirectly and directly, then they could...

The role of UF is to enhance collaboration in ARG playing.
It is true that many people have gotten involved in ARG without being part of the collective and without utilizing resources available when many minds are linked together and share information.
But UF and it's related chatrooms for each game have always been considered OOG.

If COD is trying to tell us that we have to play this game without any collaboration - then maybe it's trying to "break the mold" (and that further enhances my spec above - a PM who's known to bend and recreate the "rules of the game").

In my opinion (small as it is) that would change the appeal of ARG. I like the companionship, the friendship, the teamwork involved. And if I couldn't have help with some puzzles, I'd never get past the first section of any game (for example, I have no skills with any sound files and would never have heard the morsecode, etc).

Any citizen is a free-thinking person (IRL, not in COD). If any citizen wants to keep their info all to themselves, then it is my humble opinion that they are free to be consistent in that policy and refrain from any interaction in this forum or chat (although, IMHO that might entail a very lonely game).

I do agree that DC wants us to be more secret in PUBLIC (ie. ingame areas). And that also advances my spec above...there may be a split into two or three separate groups and we would be expected to maintain those secrets separately. In which case, we might have to create a separate discussion forum for each segment that is password encoded (and a moderator for each section since one moderator for all would limit our game play if we knew too much). Gosh, I hope it doesn't go that direction (what a pain to keep it all straight). But this may be a case of ARG breaking new ground.

I don't think it's breaking new ground Kona. Aware did the same thing. I doubt UF will ever create secret or password protected sections for a game. At least I hope they don't.

There is already a forum set up to play that kind of game, Immersion Unlimited and I'm sure if CoD requires that we keep secrets and play against each other then the game will move there.

I like playing with my pals, not against them. I stopped playing Aware for this reason.
