I think it's a slight OOG warning not to mess with the structure of an in-game event by not following the rules.
Players probably should not try to show up without a datacard, because really, what's the purpose? To pull back the curtain? To waste the puppetmaster's time?
I wonder who was planning on showing up without it! Not I!

Many people, myself included, were sort of playing along with H., saying that we could go, just to see what he would say. I think that's what the PMs were trying to counter

That's really infuriating about not getting a datacard, because i'm sure i emailed the archiver really early on....oh well, at least i'll know what happens, and hopefully will be able to jump in again later when the meet has been completed with the contact!
Good luck Krystyn!

Ok I finally got a chance to open my Datacard, And I checked out the files on it I received. Quick question, did anyone else receive a scanned notepad page with their file? Specifically you Ursos.

Noo, someone on another board got a GPG (encrypted file, usually used on Linux) called 'Formula'
Please e-mail the contents of the datacard if you can at johnahue42SPLAT yahoo.com
Thanks

Well honestly I have no idea what was on my datacard... I don't have anything in my house that will read that kind of media card, so I (probably stupidly) figured it was the same as that file on the other newsgroup. There was really nothing I could do except buy a reader for those cards, and I wasn't willing to do that. And now, I don't have it anymore! Krystyn has it and then h.meier will have it, so I dunno what else to do there. Did anyone else read theirs?

The File is titled "Reported" in Dutch.
To save you the trouble of translating it:
It says
"Bakker - Assasinated!
VOS - Assasinated!
Cinderella - on the flight" - I think it kinda means on the run
Then
"Silver Eagle
Ursos
The Phoenix
- unknown
Stop Communication"
Then again maybe Ursos is a double agent!

AHH!! Holy crap!!!
KRYSTYN! Is there ANY way you can get what's on that datacard before the meeting this weekend?!? Please! If it requires going to Kinko's or something (I don't know if they have that stuff there or not), I can send you a check for what you pay! LOL Apparently, I'm on someone's potential hit list!

I um, have not gotten the card yet? But once I do, I will do my very best to check out what's on it. Oh my goodness.

This is interesting...I would think they would put the same file on every card. It's speculated that the "formula" GPG file on someone elses cards was a super-secret Rambaldi goo formula from Methlabs.
If I may ask, from where was the datacard sent and what sort of postage? This seems to be taking a long time (God, I hate our postal system)

Yeah, this is seriously annoying. And it's being sent to Chicago, where we're a bit notorious for bad mail stuff, even though I haven't had any problems in ages.

well maybe if they postpone it again, you'll get more of a chance to find out what's on it!

No luck!
I got it.
OK, so now I gotta figure out how I can take a look at what's on this sucker.
Also, is the meetup information the same? Same time, same place?
Wheeeeeeeeeee.

Yay! Yes the meeting is the same place and time.
Do you have a SM port on your computer? Any friends who might?
