New puzzle here

Not a solution, but some preliminary work:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
From a simple eyeballing, there doesn't appear to be any complex digital steganography involved in this clue.

The text is a slightly butchered version of the second verse of the Uruguay National Anthem. Here's the text from the puzzle image:
Libertad, libertad Orientales!
Ese grito a la Patria salvó.
Que a sus bravos en fieras batallas
De entusiasmo sublime inflamó.
De este don sacrosanto la gloria
Merecimos: tiramos temblad!
Libertad en la lid clamaremos,
Y muriendo, también libertad!
Dominado la Iberia dos mundos
Ostentaba su altivo poder

There are numerous small differences which just seem to be editing for length. The major alteration is the addition of the last two lines, which in no way appear in the actual anthem:
Dominado la Iberia dos mundos
Ostentaba su altivo poder

According to Babelfish, this translates (roughly) to:
Dominated to Iberia two worlds It showed its arrogant one to be able

If you're as terrible with your geography as I am, it might help to know that Iberia is either an area of Spain, or an old name for it, or something like that. I'm not quite clear on that.

I think that's Uruguay's National Anthem.

My bad; Looks like I got an incorrect source. This page has a different version of the anthem, which matches the text in the image, including the last two lines.

Another one here

Solved:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Split the channels, got ASSASSINATION...

Takes us to http://james.libereelmundo.org/k22h7tt240.txt

*F.A.C.A.B. Surveillance system, translating into plain text*
<Kevin Ashley> Was it really neccessary to erase their memory?
<Nathan Grant> Yes. To prevent anyone from knowing about James.
<Kevin Ashley> They are all government scientists, I doubt they would have said anything.
<Nathan Grant> It is better to be safe than sorry.
<Kevin Ashley> I guess so... Do they just wake up months later and think it's months before?
<Nathan Grant> Of course not. We provide them with a memory. Hell, one of them we had to totally erase from their memory that they were even a scientist.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):

Well..

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
I used Paint Shop Pro, since Photoshop was being evil -- and I ended up getting like 3 layers (I think, I don't have it on this comp) and one of the layers was black with white writing on it. Alternatively, the way my husband found the answer (using Photoshop) was using the dropper tool and seeing that the RGB values changed by one point, then using the selection tool with a tolerance of 1.. then using the paint bucket to fill it. Dunno if that makes any sense...

That's an interesting idea. I assumed it couldn't be Alesha (but there's no reason why not), so I was thinking of Emily myself.

I never thought it could be Emily... Though it could be..

Just to keep everyone up to date, and because my head is hurting with them, there are (I think) 2 unsolved puzzles at the moment, defect.png and azul.png.

The first one I have NO idea on, except that I can see the word "fetid" in it.

The second one, though, I am doing stuff with:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Ignoring the top, null row completely, I turned it into Braille and got "ar(ning-bstuh". Which dosn't seem to be too helpful Confused

I also converted each column to hex values and got "8 6 C C A 6 8 A 8 8 6 0 8 2 A 8 6 4"
That's not anything coherant converted straight into the alphabet, and that's all I have so far.

I'm working on that one (azul) myself.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Not sure how you got thosr braille letters out of it, myself. the a is just a single dot. Besides, I wouldn't think there would be the top row if it was supposed to be braille (which is 3 rows high).

Other possibilities:

Converting the column. I see what you did, assuming the bottom was 8, then 4, 2, and 1. I did it the other way, starting from the top, but none of those values really seemed to work out either.

Groups of columns. I also tried a group of two columns to make 8 dots in a number, then convert to binary (where blue = 1, since the puzzle name is "blue" in Spanish). I always started at the top left, but then I tried both across first and down first, but neither way really gave me anything useable. I'm gonna guess that we're looking at two words, though, separated by the column of 0.

puzzle #....I lost track :P

Alright. We got a new one last night, flags.png.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Now I'm not quite sure if I made a leap on this that I shouldn't have, but here's what I got.

11 flags. So, find the countries.

1 Sierra Leone
2 Mongolia
3 Kenya
4 Ivory Coast
5 Armenia
6 Tuvalu
7 Saudi Arabia
8 Guatemala
9 Angola
10 Azerbaijan
11 Cuba

Tried different combinations of the letters the initials of the countries, ROTing them, etc. Couldn't get anything. So, I thought, maybe it's not the countries themselves, but the capital cities.

1 Sierra Leone Freetown
2 Mongolia Ulaanbaatar
3 Kenya Nairobi
4 Ivory Coast Yamoussoukro
5 Armenia Yerevan
6 Tuvalu Funafuti
7 Saudi Arabia Riyadh
8 Guatemala Guatemala
9 Angola Luanda
10 Azerbaijan Baku
11 Cuba Havana

The initial letters didn't spell anything, But when I ROTed them, one of the ROTs gave "shall set you". Tried that and it didn't work. But it made me think of the phrase "the truth shall set you free". Tried "truth" and "thetruth" but that was nothing. So, I tried "free" and got this page.

Weird.

azul has been solved!

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Well, going back to the pips, we did that count again and got this string: 163356151160145162

Paul mentioned that they were all really small numbers. So, as I joke, I said maybe it's octal. Jeb used this site to translate from octal and got "sîiper". But it looks like it should be "sniper". Sure enough, that works and gives us this page, which confirms earlier spec:

Project Scientist List
-------------------------

Designer/Project Lead - Alesha Periwinkle
Lead Programmer - Dr. Robert Vulner
Programmer - Dr. Jason Astuse
Programmer - Marty Pendergrass
Surgeon - Dr. Eric Hussman

For security reasons, all scientists involved in the bio-agent project had the event erased from their memory upon completion.
