Just thought I'd post a list of puzzles and solutions, so that we have a quick list to look at. I believe these are the order in which we got them, but I'm not sure about a few of these, But, it should be pretty much correct.

How was the solution for sicai-latoc found? I can't seem to find it here or on Immersion Unlimited, so I guess it was solved on IRC? And also, I think it's worth noting that flags is a two-parter, and we don't have the second part yet.

Nez - well, it's either a 2nd clue that is yet to be released, or there is a 2nd meaning to the flags clue...

Well, I was going to let Corla post it since she solved it, but she didn't do it. So, here's the solution
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The image is of a whole bunch of characters. Look up the ASCII value of each character. The cent sign is 155. Take that number as octal. So, 155 (base 8 ). Look up that value in the ASCII table. You get "m". Keep going.
I used asciitable.com for lookup, along with Character Map in Windows.

Alright, 2 days without a puzzle. That tells me that we're done. So, we have defect left to solve. However, that also tells me that we have everything we need to solve the second login for free.
Possibilities:
Something to do with the names of the clue files
Something to do with the solutions
Something to do with the file names of the conversations (not as likely to me, as it looks like just a checksum or something)
Discuss.

Actually, I was wondering if maybe there was a twelfth flag/nation/city that fits some sort of pattern, which leads to the second password for flags. Does that seem likely?

/me gets started...

That took a while, well, I can conclusively say that the second password is NOT any of the countries listed here
Grrr

perhaps the country of a missing flag isn't the password, but the inclusion of a new flag into the puzzle gives you a new answer?

Defect solved.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Highlighting the letters C, D, E, F and T ("DEFECT") makes a pattern that spells out "pain". Feeding that into the James site nets us this:
*F.A.C.A.B. Surveillance system, translating into plain text*
<Kevin Ashley> So... How is it coming?
<Scientist> Good, everything is almost complete here.
<Kevin Ashley> So, what exactly will these things do?
<Scientist> You name it, they do it. They will increase every sense he has.
<Kevin Ashley> Aren't you worried about him?
<Scientist> Why would I be?
<Kevin Ashley> It's obvious you have developed feelings for him.
<Scientist> It's obvious, huh?
<Kevin Ashley> Yeah, pretty much.
<Scientist> Oh... Well, he won't be harmed by the implants anyway.
<Kevin Ashley> If you say so. I sure wouldn't want them in my head.

I have been working on the second password for the flags.png.
I have not successfully come up with a password yet, but here are my thoughts.
If the capitols ROTed into a clue that gave the password to start...maybe the countries themselves do something similar for password number two.
I tried anagraming the first letters of the country names but got mostly gibberish except for "a magic tasks." Could be nothing, but it seems possibly relevant...mean anything to anyone?
There were also some that began with CIA but they didn't really make sense.
Thoughts?
Actually I just rearranged that to "task as magic" could that mean something?

since my last post I began to take a completely different approach when I noticed something about the secret words.
They all link to a file with an odd name. They are as follows:
a32b298b71.txt
bt2ex42ab2.txt
c325eyrt57.txt
drt43fg2o3.txt
ed436f4h78.txt
f43h56ghc7.txt
gr53j85gp0.txt
h2df5jo8n1.txt
ig4j3k72q3.txt
jh7sdf65v3.txt
k22h7tt240.txt
lbb92873y5.txt
mk77b2a227.txt
n34hy21p72.php
notice how they all begin with the next consecutive alphabetical letter? Now if JustLurking is correct in his account of the order they were released, the k and j were switched. I don't know if that is significant or if JL mistyped them.
I do however find it difficult to believe that those names are not that way intentionally.

The name and the image together made me think of the word scramble we were given to find The Defect's 'blog. I was actually thinking that the columns might be shifted up or down to make a phrase appear when lined up, and that the placing of those letters (C,D,E,F,T) might be the key to doing that. You can imagine my surprise when I saw the pattern emerging
