Not to be too prosaic, but how about "group". TT Unit Group sounds fairly corporate or bureaucratic to me and seems entirely appropriate for a covert project.

I did the day I got the email.

I wrote

"Hi there,
You don't know me,
My friend leo said you might have some information that could get him out of
a jam,
I'm supposed to forward it to him if I find it.
Any idea what it is I might be looking for?

Thanks in advance for your time,
Soggy"

his response was,...

"sorry I haven't the faintest idea - if you give a little more to go on
I might be able to help - and who is leo?"

Aha.

/me thinks

Could this blog be OOG? In which case, what good is it to the game? The blog doesn't seem to present any direct kind of evidence proving Leo's innocence, but the octal code presented in Leo's email points us right there without a doubt.

This is a toughie.

The only reason I thought it might be pointing there is if it was pointing to the fact that the info we need is on a blog somewhere yet unfound.

Another thing to think about if the blog is OOG... Why encode a link to the person's profile, as opposed to the blog itself?

EDIT: i.e. maybe we should be searching for someone's profile, if Russell's theory is correct.

Exactly, you would think that if it was one of the stories they could have linked straight to it

ok, I emailed the blog owner as well. (Had done it before I realized someone else had.) I asked mostly about topics on his site, but referenced Leo, third and fifth dimensions. Here is his my email:

Here's his reply:

Hi there, thanks for checking my blog, and thanks also for your kind
words - sorry I just don't get the Leo thing, also referred to in
another e-mail - is Leo a person, a sphinx or a constellation, maybe
someone could let me know!

One of the books I'm reading at the minute is by David Darling, and
titled 'Teleportation - The Impossible Leap' and imo, definitely worth
a read, I'm going to hopefully include book reviews in the future on
the blog, and this would be an ideal candidate.

Something else I'm reading, 'The Holographic Universe' by Michael
Talbot puts forward some ideas about our perceived reality or
otherwise of the Universe around us.

On Aristeas, I'm mystified myself, and to confuse matters more there
is someone called Aristaeus - when I dig up something more definitive
I'll post it, but it seems a fair amount of wading through long texts
is required so it might be a while before I track him down.

Time travel is a great subject, and I started writing a long-ish piece
on it the other day, tho can't seem to find it today, it would be
handy to be able to go back in time to just before you lose or mislay
something.

I'm trying to find out if it's possible to travel back in time as all
the current theories hold that only the future can be visited, and eve
if you could go back in time, it could not be to a time before your
time travel machine was built, but I don't buy that.

Anyway, gotta go, and thanks again,

best wishes

I feel pretty certain his blog is OOG. Perhaps though, he is not totally oog. Maybe with the right question he might give some info to us (on the behest of the pms.) I feel, like most of you, it's most likely that we'll find some kind of clue in the profile itself.

i agree with mudbrother.. i think this guy is ig but
not his blog.. i just emailed him with a coded message
asking "how can we help leo?".. maybe he just won't
take a direct question.

we'll see if he answers..
hope so

His blog seems to contain a lot of "current affairs" type news. Has anyone asked him about the recent news in Pemesent? Maybe he'll respond well to a question phrased innocently like that (not mentioning anyone particular such as Leo or Zoe).

Well that sounds like a giant shove to me,
as opposed to a gentle prodding.

Maybe I'm reading too much into it,
but it would seem to be implying that there is info on his site concerning altering the immediate past,

I feel sorry for the guy if he really is oog, but I doubt it.
I think the answer is probably hidden in that profile somehwere.

or is that just ludicrous?
It's the middle of my night,.. maybe I'm not thinking right.

Ok, we found something! I conjectured to Russell that TTUnit might stand for Time Travel Unit, since we were getting lots of hints about time travel. That led me to remember the razimus Time Travel site... checking the forums there....

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
There is a reply to the post about Pemesent by a user Passed-by. On checking the profile of this user at http://www.razimus.com/forum/profile.php?mode=viewprofile&u=13
we find the link to
http://www.imfriendly.co.uk/z22/p97evidence.zip

The file is password protected. We're working on that now!

With regard to cracking the password: Russell, you earlier mentioned that the phrase "is little but much, is huge but small" could refer to a zip file. Could this be relevant now?

I've tried to "copy and paste" various things as the password but I haven't had any success yet. But that doesn't necessarily mean the two puzzles are unrelated... That is, if we're assuming that there is more to the Big Ben thing than we've discovered so far.
