Mima,

Have you accessed the form today?

I am having problems, I can acces the SRI site with the password from the puzzles and read the ROC, but everytime I click on the form my PC freezes.

I've even tried clearing my history and stuff and it's still happening. I was in there last night, but I had to check on the 10 digit communication number with DomeCentral before I filled it in, and he did'nt come online till I was getting myself ready for Bed at gone 3am. Evil or Very Mad

I'm gonna leave it a while and try again later.

Copy & paste into word, and reveal formatting. Looking forward to step 2!

How/where did you find this?

I filled in my form today & sent it off. I didn't have any probs with this, but did have probs a couple of days ago when I was trying to put my login in. I AIM'd DC and they sorted it out, so maybe you should try this?

Copy & paste over to word. I have a formatting icon on my toolbar:
View menu, Toolbars, Customise, Commands tab, select View on list, show all (It looks like a reversed old fashioned P). This shows up all the formatting marks within the document.

There is a hidden series of boxes before the COD Name Identity. I think it is just the address that the form goes back to, not something we need to use. Just posted it for interests sake.

Since the answers to the quiz are pretty straightforward, I'm wondering if the open text box is an opportunity to respond to the hidden message(s) that we are seeing in the ROC (either directly, or in code form).

Quote:

The Sandman retreat program has been discontinued and replaced with the Dunes-of-Diana relaxation program.

DoD? Department of Defense?

Quote:
- In order to meet the above code, Sandmen are to remain in top physical shape. An annual physical at 217 is required of all Sandmen.

What code is above? Here is the ROC above it, they call this the Rules of Conduct, not the Code of Conduct, so is there a code in this:
Quote:
- All Sandmen will hunt Runners until terminated. Never stop or abandon a hunt. Persistence, dedication, and the tireless pursuit of Runners (PDTPR) are the signs of a Sandman.

And that number 217 has to be important....maybe a location SM go to for a physical. Or maybe to solve the above code? So if I take the second word "Sandman", the first word "All" and the seventh word ""Terminated" - is that a message?

Quote:
A suggested regimen is: 1 – SloRun, 2 – CardioToxinCleanse, 3 – ManySprint, 4 – CardioAlphinFlush, 5 – MedRun, 6 – Bliss, 7 – DistRun.

This also smells like a code. So much of this page uses those Capital Letters - 1SR, 2CTC, 3MS, 4CAF, 5MR, 6B, 7DR. Could these also be locations? Or a password? Related to anything on the grid map? Or what if I use 217 again: CTC SR DR. Does that ring any bells?

Quote:
- Sandmen will partake in the City of Domes pleasures (except ingestion of Disodium Inosinate and Silicon Dioxide) to build relations with citizens. (Please note, more than 8 partners per week can result in decreased productivity during work shifts.)

The spec is that this refers to your lifeclock. But is there any significance to the "8"? Or is it the Caps again (DI SD)?

Quote:
Sandmen need to be familiar with the standard (Sandman Shoot and Weave, Duck-Shoot-Run) and advanced (Run Shoot-Duck, Shoot-Crouch-Hide) assault tactics. The art of suppression is not a tactic to eliminate but to distract. A suppression team should always contain 2 members. The elimination team may need to pass on small opportunities in order to maximize final impact (MFI). Invasion teams (IT) may not consist of less than one member.

So, "STATI" stands out, and you gotta wonder about SS and W, D-S-R and RS-D, S-C-H. And why the MFI, or the IT. And why put in the ROC something stating the obvious - when can you have "less than one member"?

Quote:
Sandmen will always have appropriate equipment with them during work shifts. Proper equipment includes, but is not limited to N&N's, P.O.P. (POP), T-Belt, Shablaz, and Tilt-Stik.

What is a Shablaz? P.O.P.? N&N? or even Tilt-Stik? Gotta mean something we haven't found yet (is it referenced in the book?).

Quote:
- Any information accessed by a Sandman is completely confidential and cannot be shared with other citizen members (AIA-BASIC).

Warning us to play their game without the collective? Or another klue?
"Any Info Accessed"?

Quote:
Watch how attack tactics deliver optimal efficiency statistics. To hamper individual Sandman may evoke automatic nominalization.

Previously discussed above.

Quote:
Once Runner is terminated, Sandmen are required to request a stickman to clean up and remove Runner bodies. Stickmen S3E3 and D4Q1 are to be used by only the Sandman leader.

Contact? Another Code? LetterNumberLetterNumber - hmmm? Find the word or letter in another place?

Some of these ROC appear appropriate for answering the Step1 quiz. But then other stick out like sore thumbs.

Quote:
- Sandmen should be familiar with the following quick hits:
Tubevision – watch your flanks,
Hold gun – don't think twice,
Improve your shot – train regularly,
Shoot aggressively – be a Sandman of action,
Be tight – make yourself a small target,
Analyze yourself – what went right, what went wrong and why,
Be unpredictable – don't let your old patterns give you away during a pursuit,
Yesterday's mistakes are history – focus on the here and now.

Obvious at first, but is there a reason for the second part ("don't think twice" doesn't really fit with "Hold gun"). Maybe we have to use just certain words (but I'm not seeing it right now)?

This page is highly suggestive of many messages and they even spell it out a few times (afterall, it is called the ROC). These have already been posted above. But sometimes putting them together may help. So this is what I did instead of working this morning Wink

just a note while we are looking for messages. try not to look to deep and get offtrack..."what does this mean" and "this baby" are obvious messages, just try not to start adding numeric values and doing advanced math or anything Cool anyways , haha, that being sad.

Either S3E3 and D4Q1 are just names (much like R2D2 or C3P0) or they are something to look at deeper...the S3E3 really pops out at me as a coordinate, which is funny b/c we are given a grid. D4Q1 could also be used as a coordinate if given the letters...used like battleship...i know its a long shot,,,but thats just what popped out at me....I agree with what konamouse said above, there is alot of things in here that apear to be messages,,,,weird spellings....capitals....numbers and such...I looked for the better part of the night and found quite abit, i think, I have ideas about some of the things...but nothing else is really popping out...anyways keep your eyes open and crozz your fingers as we wait for a reply from the evaluation. Laughing

That's the sound a runner makes when you bust a cap in his you-know-what! SHABLAZ!

Very Happy

Also don't forget this from earlier in the thread:

WhatdoesThiSmean

I am also not entirely convinced that the blocks of hard spaces are not significant.

I'm also not convinced that there aren't a bunch of red herrings here...

Well, this all sucks. I know I have the right password now, but it still won't let me in. I wonder if they blocked my IP because I had it wrong too many times.

Svengoolie: Dont make the mistake I made. Make sure you are sticking it in the SRI login and not the SMHQ login.

I actually got it to work in the end, I used a different browser and got in. I don't know why my PC kept freezing with my usual browser though, I got in there last night, I just did'nt fill the form in then.

But it is all done and sent off now, so fingers crossed I will get a Sandman position.

No call on my phone. I gave them my cell cuz I always have that on me and I've gotten no calls or voicemails from SMHQ. I think they're still evaluating the evals and will make the appropriate phone calls once they're finished.
