I found what 14 7 means, thanks to the chemical guy Dno.

Look at the periodic table :
14 = Si (silicium)
7 = N (nitrogen)

14 7 = SiN

5(71-u)+82+66_15(85)+1*(105-b+Cool+(81-L) = ???

Bit of along post but bear with me.

Noting the position is for a Chemical Engineer I started looking at the Periodic Table and all the numbers match to elements and working through the formula gives a semi comprehensible outcome:

So,

Atomic element 5 is Boron the symbol for which is B
(71-u) 71 = Lutetium = Lu. Take away the u leaves L
+82 = Lead = Pb
+ 66 = Dysprosium = Dy

Thus first part reads BLPbDy_ which is pretty nonsensical

However moving on

15 = Phosphorous = P
(85) = Astatine = At
+1 = Hydrogen = H

which gives us P(At)H or path

The last part

*(105-b+Cool
105 = Dubnium = Db minus the b = D
+8 = Oxygen = O gives DO
and
+(81-L) = 81 = Thallium = Tl minus the l gives a T making DOT

which results in BLPbDy_Path*dot

Does this lead us to an email or web address. I cannot figure it further for now.

One final thing I've just realised why is the final L capitalised when the symbol for Thallium is Tl and of course the l in this symbol is not capitalised?

Ok, ever thought of 82 as element 8 twice? (8x2?) ie. OO to make it BLOODy_PAtH*DOT
I must say I'm intrigued that the "-u" isn't a "- u"

found another page that says 'Try Harder, half is better than none'
surprise, surprise it was at http://www.legionpharma.com/about.php?SiN
case sensitive.

to post 2 above, dont know what that should mean.

to 1 post above, good idea
------------------------------------------------

This what I found for use of lanthanoids:

Irradiation with UV light of many Ln3+ complexes causes them to fluoresce; in some species, low temperatures are required to observe the phenomenon. Their fluorescence leads to the use of lanthanoids in phosphors in televisions and fluorescent lighting. The origin of the fluorescence is 4f-4f transitions, no transitions being possible for f0, f7 (spin forbidden) and f14. Irradiation produces Ln3+ in an excited state which decays to the ground state either with emission of energy (observed as fluorescence) or by a non-radiative pathway. The ions that are commercially important for their emission properties are Eu3+ ( red emission ) and Tb3+ (green emission.)

Maybe a hint to the screens.jpg ? (those are TFT's and dont use them right..)
By the way, would that screens.jpg be in-game ? (or stegged)

Hi there.

I just wanted to post is that it seems like there is some pattern in the some of

the keywords working on the U4forEverybody site.

mom
none
money
genome
.
.
.
.
demosthenes

They change from "mo" to "no" and back if you order them according to their length and they all have a different length. Suggesting that there are 4 words missing till the hole between genome and demosthenes is filled up.
That would also make 9 keywords.
There are also some "ne" and "me" in them but I dont see a pattern there yet.
But I dont know what to make of "doom" it just doesnt fit into my precious pattern. Confused Lets just forget it, nobody knows where it really came from anyways. Wink
Well and "4youreyesonly" neither but I never really counted that in anyways, hehe.

Just thought I let you know, maybe it helps you since you really have some great ideas to solve the puzzles. Very Happy

The problem is now on the page :
Quote:
5(71 -u) + + 66 _ 15 (85) + 1 * (105 - b + Cool + (81 - L) = ???

I tryed SiN and Sin and sin and SiN2 etc. before, but they didnt work.

Now, if you type something wrong, it states its wrong (new function)

and its:

5( 71 -u ) + 8^2 + 66 _ 15 ( 85 ) + 1 * ( 105 - b + 8 ) + ( 81 - L ) = ? ? ?

not containing any Laughing or Cool and stuff

shouldnt it be:

5 * ( 71 - u) + 8^2 + 66 + _ + 15 * ( 85 ) + 1 * ( 105 - b + 8 ) + ( 81 - L )

I'll apply for the 'job' :)

Code:

Dear Sir/Madam,

I've recently seen the position of Senior Chemical Engineer being
advertised on your Careers page. I would like to apply for that position.
Looking at the problem you have left to be resolved, I would deduce that
the problem is in the equation:

the 82 should be a (8^2) to make the equation flow correctly.

As it stands:
 B (Lu -u) + Pb + Dy _ P (At) + H * (Db - b + O) + (Tl - l).. would reduce
to
 BlPbDy_PAtH*DOT

As I type I see that one of your scientists have found the problem and
corrected it on the Careers page. With the Oxygen component in, the Lead
truly turns to gold on the find. The formula you're looking for is: BLOODy PAtH!

Credits to Dno for the decode - hope to get a response.
I'll keep you all posted

Maybe ZBSRIT is nothing.

I think ZBSRIT is...

another dead end

twice now, we have gotten the "half is better than none" thing. so i plugged the two passwords together.

SiN and uh4xdmy3y3s!

http://www.legionpharma.com/about.php?uh4xdmy3y3s!SiN
this gets you a message "try harder"

http://www.legionpharma.com/about.php?SiNuh4xdmy3y3s!
this page doesn't exist.

remember the 'half is better'than none' will probably amount to something as we havent been overrun with clues on this one. almost every hint has led some where so what the hell does half is better than none mean? Question
