If the PMs of this game need for the players to have separate private forums, they would set it up via COD.

Most of the time the story unfolds as us against a virtual character(s); the only time it was players in teams against eachother, some very real nastiness ensued and it was ugly - I don't think any sane PM is going to tread in that direction.

I think that some of you are jumping to conclusions (which is what some of us did in joining the chat with codeileen5 - we got burned).

If someone hasn't gotten the email from SMHQ yet, they need to resend their application email to deepsleep and they will probably get the proper reply (i.e. the first puzzle). That is what I did. In the spirit of UF, lets help eachother follow the proper steps and learn where the story is taking us.

Well, as we know, if at any moment during the day, something is not going on in the game, spec will fly.
At the moment, spec is on "how will the game work" so as of this moment, I kind of look at all of this as discussion for the sake of discussion. I wouldnt want anyone to get truly heated or upset. All smiles here.

I cant answer your question, I wasnt around for AWARE..but allow me, in reference to some of our various spec contention, share some of the reasons I think we are going to have some degree of Real-Life interaction of a competitive nature, so you can see why I keep going into it, I really do think it makes perfect sense.

1. The universe. Yes, I can concieve of a game based in Logan's Run where we just sort of travel through the society of runners, sandmen, and crack puzzles and move on, as non-participant pretenders...but then why LR? Why not something else that isnt built solely on the concept of persecution and Hunting? Logan's Run screams "real action".

2. Eileen. The fact that we are communicating with various representatives of a running movement, and that we were punished for doing so by the status quo. Yes,the deus ex came in and forgave us our sins, but the fact remains that through communication with an opposing philosophy, players and sandmen will be punished in some way, and why bother having a web page devoted to showing people up for Carousel if its just going to get cancelled? Why bother creating avenues of communication and action that will be punished by carousel if carousel means nothing, therefore negating the reasons for running? The entire system is invalidated if its just a pillow fight.
I dont believe that the punishment / rescue thing was just slapping people to the side to tell them all to go be sandmen. It was losing a round on easy difficulty, they got caught but they got to play again for free because they are beginners. Next time it'll probably be permanent. If its permanent, why put people on carousel? They won't just kick out outright from the game, they're putting you on the other team. Run, runner.

See what I'm getting at? Try to solve the runner's puzzles as a citizen, but if you get caught you move to the next section of the game: running from sandmen. I just think it fits too well together. Anyway:

3. Personal contact. Those who thought they were identifying with a runner's movement provided mailing addresses and were told they would recieve RL packages. Sandman recruits have supplied phone numbers. Ergo, sandmen will be reachable in real time.

4. Stuff from the SRI. I will spoiler this section as I interpret things from the ROC.
