The length and absurdity and general O/T nature of this thread reminds me of the PSYCHOLIST thread. P.S. He has a puppet valva on his handlebars now. Flaming Nutter Cursing

When I read this:
Quote:
To keep their station running 24 hours a day, Mr. Lopez and Mr. Wiley are already accepting submissions from outside sources -- including, Mr. Lopez says, "animation, puppet shows, and some really unique content."
I knew it belonged in this thread.

'Swarmcasting' Software Developed at U. of Texas-Austin Lets Anyone Run an Internet TV Station

That's right. It says "anyone." The puppets could have their own tv show.

And here is where we say goodbye to the Flaming Heart.

A sad day for UF when a select fre the population in a fit of spite and malice repudiate what could possibly be the next Beast or Bees.

Perhaps it was possible that the rabbithole was MEANT to be a gAIM to resemble a low budget, and then turn deeper, as the players tumble ever farther into the rabbit hole?

The rabbit hole for Synagoga was quite deep and worth the trip.

This rabbit hole is now closed. And how deep it is, no one on here shall ever know.

The wheat has seperated from the chaff. It is neat but sad at the same time, for when the harlequin's mask comes off, it exposes the madman underneath.

I feel sad for the person or team who started this game, to have it smashed so brutally. I emailed them, and gave hints on the avoidance of bullys masquerading as players.

And the schism grows ever wider as the joy of creativity is destroyed by those who canont appreciate its beauty.

A sad day, indeed.

And if you wonder, its not my game. I was scandalized too long by this thread. Now was my turn to speak.

Eww...now you're my neighbor. She sucks.

And GuyP, maybe you mean, the master of Levity.
You could be the master of Brevity, but you'd want to take that up with your girlfriend.

I'll throw my opinion into this three ring circus, if I may...

While I can't figure out exactly what you are trying to say, if I'm reading this right, your accusations are trite and repugnant. (See, I can use a thesaurus as well). If you honestly believe that the attempt made by this 'PM' was The Next Big Thing, or even had the potential to be something comparable to games like The Beast and I Love Bees, given the way in which it was constructed and delivered... well, Tony, I genuinely feel sorry for you and your thought process. The reason this 'trailhead' was mocked and ridiculed was because, quite frankly, many people are sick and tired of the lazy, unappealing launches being delivered by unprepared individuals (or, in many cases, a single person) in the oft-vain hopes that people will instantly LURVE THEIR GAME. And, your implication that the people were trying to intentionally hurt the feelings of this 'PM' is quite improper and slanderous, as you have no basis for this argument. Did you ask the people involved what their intentions were? Are you inside their heads? It might be, Tony, that once the silliness got rolling, that it just didn't stop, and perhaps that might be a message to the 'PMs' of the future to be careful about launching their trailhead -- that sometimes, a little more thought will help their games get positive attention.

Or, perhaps the game was crap. We'll never get the chance to find out unless the creative minds behind the original post take a better look at their trailhead delivery model and decide what they think might work better.

Oh yeah? How was The Black Awakening (with an equally lame, if not more compelling, trailhead right here at UF)? Was it worth the trip?

Are you writing a monologue or making a point? I have a hard time dealing with vague, enigmatic wordy statements such as these.

Why thank you, great Tony, saviour of our world. You took the time to soothe the ravaged soul of yet another PM who perhaps needed to learn a hard lesson about life -- that not every game is going to be successful. Maybe now that the 'PM' knows that it's okay to continue to post uninspired trailheads on out-of-game message boards, we can expect more 'PMs' to do the same. I salute you, sir.

What makes me sad is a post like this. Your advocacy of terrible games such as this one is a joke. You end up sounding like a baseball fan celebrating an abysmal season like it was a championship year, all the while shouting obscenties at the regular fans who call it like it is.

<WARNING> SEMI SERIOUS POST </WARNING>

I appreciate your thoughts Tony, (And jamesi, you're relentless, Crying or Very sad criticising people for giving sympathy, shame on you) but I will say that I'm also really, really f***ing tired of these lame-ass rabbitholes. When will people learn?

You are NOT thinking things through. Give up on this one, actually go BTS behind someone else's game, LEARN how to do it, and THEN try launching again. Nothing good can come out of this anymore.

Sorry if it hurts, but people need to learn. This is killing the genre.

end rant

Looked like Tony was less giving sympathy for the erstwhile Flaming Heart PM and more like he was fingerwagging at everyone who posted in this thread.
