Quote:

Charon, in Greek mythology, is the ferryman of the dead. The souls of the deceased are brought to him by Hermes, and Charon ferries them across the river Acheron. He only accepts the dead which are buried or burned with the proper rites, and if they pay him an obolus (coin) for their passage. For that reason a corpse had always an obolus 1 placed under the tongue.

Those who cannot afford the passage, or are not admitted by Charon, are doomed to wander on the banks of the Styx for a hundred years. Living persons who wish to go to the underworld need a golden bough obtained from the Cumaean Sibyl. Charon is the son of Erebus and Nyx. He is depicted as an sulky old man, or as a winged demon carrying a double hammer. He is similar to the Etruscan (Charun).

1. Occasionally, a danace -- an ancient Persian coin which is worth rather more than the Greek obolus -- was placed in the mouth of the dead.

Some background on Charon, and about the stegged image... I think we need a password to unsteg Jshide

Note: the Project Charon is a "LegionTek" project, not a "LegionPharma" project. Not sure if that'd be of much signficance.

I'd be looking at the prototype numbers and case numbers as well

Another Greek reference...like Demosthenes...interesting.

I wonder what interesting words/numbers we've found that might be a password to desteg such an image? Things we haven't used yet, like

lanthanoids
69669696969 (or whatever it was)
the phone numbers on the art project
the name of the kid who did the project

or just general words that are open and haven't been tried yet

Charon is also the name of Pluto's only moon. It was discovered in 1978 by Jim Christy, who named it not only after the ferryman of Greek mythology, but also after his wife, Charlene.

I've tried tons of passwords to desteg this image. Since I'm running an OS that stegdetect won't work on, can anyone second that the image is indeed stegged.

The only match I found with the moon of Pluto, Charon is the 0.04 wich is the gravity of Pluto but it could mean nothing.

I just tested the image with stegdetect 0.6 and it comes back negative. Anyone else want to verify?

At sensitivity 4 and higher, stegdetect gives a JPhide positive.
Could be a false positive, but who knows Smile

The image isnt camouflaged, I checked.
Maybe this is a design image, like img_keytothecity.jpg ?

Looks like its a suit viewed from the back, worn by a 'monster'... Very Happy
