*heavy sigh*

Excuse me for not being able to use my vast computing skills to read the script. I was only going on what I see not the code behind it. Or perhaps maybe I did not want to know what was in the script behind it. God help me for not wanting to see if anything is live yet. I am a terrible terrible man.

I must hang my head in shame for the most heinious of crimes committed.

Obviously I need to explain what I meant. Basically so the site is not live NOW - this does not stop us from asking about information so then .... the PM's .... will make a page/website live LATER so we can use it. Who knows we can be proactive or we can wait until they give us any information each day.

I Know I am no expert at how these games are run - perhaps we are not supposed to be proactive. One would guess this is down to the PM's style. But if we try to ask for information then they might give us the information either by the blogs or, dare I even say this, the academy website.

It's a perefectly fair point that library access doesn't work *at all* currently. So, I see this discussion as mainly speculative - usefully gathering some ideas together so that we have some determination as to how we might use the library resource were it to go live. True, there does always seem to be the possibility that we might be able to force the PM's hand on this...if we proceed in an appropriate manner. In many ways, this is one of the most difficult things to work out about the ARG overall; is it to be considered an 'open' or a 'closed' system??

If it's essentially 'open', then we have to be as proactive as possible, because the PM's are working on the principle that a certain number of things need to happen, BUT IN AN ORDER DICTATED BY PLAYER INTERACTION. It's possible that the game may be functioning in this way. If we think about the Reconstructionist situation, that appeared to be almost entirely engineered in response to player interest. One moment virtually no - one could even remember who the Reconstructionists were, the next, we'd placed them high on our list of theft suspects, and were suddenly being inundated with information, puzzles etc. relating to them.

On the other hand, such a development in - game might also be seen, in retrospect, as little more than a red herring, stalling us for a time, responsive to our own theories in order to keep us interested in the game, but actually of minor significance to the 'grand plan' of the ARG. After all, what has investigation of the Recons actually helped us to discover?? Given that something as significant as the Salk logs seem to have appeared completely out of the blue i.e. when the PM's were ready to release the information, then we might be better off assuming that the game is a 'closed' system, and all the truly significant plot devices will be given to us when the PM's feel like it...which could continue to be at *very* sporadic intervals!

Naturally, from what we've seen so far, it could be concluded that the game is both 'open' and 'closed' at different times, depending on PM whim. So, frankly, the library could go either way: it's probably *not* likely to become an on - line resource any time soon, unless the PM's want it to, but I guess you never know. Maybe they've been waiting for us to push the right buttons with Violet all along...?

I know I might be flamed for putting this here, but I can't find anywhere better.

K.C is one of the female cubeheads names. The first thing I thught of is Ruth Coralhouse. It kinda makes sence in a way. She had access to the academy and she knows a lot about earth (See sentinal article). Shes also very old, making me think taht she could have been a member before it disappeared into the shadows. It just seems right in a way.

[EDIT: moved to more appropriate thread. yanka.]

Did some more searching on Quercus, it's the Beech family, of which the Oak is a member of.

[SPEC]

This may be way off but,
Quercus = Beech
Beach = Shore ,sort of, so my guess is
Quercus is Maya Shorer

I know it's a bit lame but TA did say:

Well, we've already discussed Q, haven't we? Quercus. I suppose it's sort of clever.

In regards to the locked message that no one has cracked, the clue would suggest the location of the picnic where Pietro and Sylvia met.

Do we know where that was and if we do, have we tried it?

If not, it doesn't seem too dangerous to ask people about it. Has anyone tried this? I've seen no mention of efforts to open that last log. It may hold something that opens things up in another avenue.

Just a thought.

I know you're new here and everything, but this has been discussed for well over two months. Every possible location in the city that we know of where one might hold a picnic has been tried many times. You say you've seen no mention of any efforts, but please use the Search function before you go making claims like this - a search for 'picnic' brings up 3 pages of results, not exactly hard to find a mention of it.
