One 'S & I' that springs to mind as a potential alternative is Scarlett and Iona Rodie. According to Scarlett they met at The Sentinel (which she makes a point of mentioning in the 'about' section of her site). Dont know why that would interest Pietro enough to use it as a password though!

Clue is: Where S and I met
(They met at a picnic, but I can't get in. I don't know whether the username is wrong, or whether I should be writing "atapicnic" or what...)

The picture on the page with the eulogy is of a rather young Pietro and Sylvia. It's titled tshirt.jpg, and of course, they're both wearing t-shirts. Pietro's says "I solved the mimasan maze", and Sylvia's has some strange fishbowl symbol on it. They haven't been married that long, so any picture of them might be a clue. Could be where they first met? (Unfortunately, I've tried a few variations on it and it doesn't seem to work. Anyone know where the Mimasan Maze is? Smile

I was just browsing through the Academy, checking for changes, when I noticed the thing on Aiko's easel (and the thing she's drawing) looks like the thing on Sylvia's T-shirt... oooh spoooky...

I noticed that, but I think she's drawing the animal that perched on her easle. Both circular, but I think different.

picnic password

hi there!
have been looking through the map cards for possible picnic places and found this description on card 146:

Port Newguard
Port Newguard occupies a stretch of the River Mazy directly west of the Mobius Strip and is home to a small lake used for fishing. Visitors often enjoy watching the races from the boathouses owned by the University and Marmalejo College, and the Newguard seven Bridges offer a pleasant site for picnics.

That's perhaps interesting, as I still maintain that the symbol on Sylvia's T -Shirt looks like a bridge spanning water. True, we assume that the picnic she and Pietro attended together was the first time they met, and, therefore, it's unlikely (if not totally impossible) that the picture of them was 'taken' on that day. But, if they regularly went to the same picnic spot, and bothered to buy the T - shirt???...

I emailed Sylvia today (at the behest of a discussion in IRC) asking kinda indirectly for a few clues about the passwords, and also offering some virtual irises as a sign that we are all still thinking about her, in the hope that she might confirm that one and maybe in the process of giving us a few anecdotes about her and pietro, reveal some more of the answers. got the same auto response as previous but if i hear any more i'll post it up. didn't tell her exactly why we were trying to learn more about pietro's life other than we wanted to help figure out what happened to him, but if perplexcity.com is as in game as i think it is, she may already know about the log files and emails, cos assuming none of us told, we dont seem to be the only ones who 'cracked' the maze.

rach =)

ummm final idea about picnic locations etc... maybe its the name of a festival cos the perplexians have so many, maybe the password is cube day or sommat like that? I mean, you dont usually jus have random picnics with strangers so it makes sense if the reason was because of a festival. Also following this train of thought; why were they both at a potluck picnic together, even if it was a potluck the people who went must have had some reason to turn up and so might have known each other before.

The only other thing that struck me re: the picnic is that I associate the term 'potluck' (in Earth terms) particularly with religiously oriented picnics - say, a Christian thousand people potluck, or whatever. So, could this have been something set up by the Brotherhood at which young members of the Church could get together and mix? In which case, are we looking for the name of, indeed, either a festival, or the name that the organisers gave to their picnic, rather than its location??

i think we jus need to wait for more news, we've got loadsa info, but nothing specific, which is what we need, i dont think we're sposed to have got this far so quickly cos we jus guessed the iris and vincent bit the song is interesting tho, maybe it has something to do with a song which has some refernece to salk/pietro/sylvia, or has something to do with puzzles/mases. Also the name pietro is italian for peter... anything there, a spanish connection maybe?

I'm on the same page. Potluck as in everyone brings something to the picnic, which did seem odd, and obivously some clue. Re-dissecting the words he uses we have little to go on, but I am not of the opinion that this puzzle is unsolvable with the current information we have.

Something Adrian said in the Perplex City interview at ARGcon struck a chord with me>> the types of puzzles they are looking for are a little more abstract. It won't be a simple as waiting until Sylvia mentions their favourite song, we have to aquire this information by other means.

So feverishly looking at the academy and brotherhood site (upcoming/past events), I'm coming up blank. But I will share the other "zing" I had from the start of this puzzle. The whole corriander-lime buns at the bakery, and pietro's wife baking him bread - felt to me like a code for something deeper. Just a thought. Red Hot Bakery anyone?? Rolling Eyes I've got nothing. But this puzzle just keeps niggling away.

weird...simply weird

Chile-cheddar bread presumably contains an entire country and I'm enjoying the oats and the lager, but Oat-Lager artisanal bread? Sounds unhygienic.

Danish
Chile
Cheddar

They're names of places on Earth, and I doubt even the perplexian Earth Fad would extend to a reputable bakery naming their food after Earth places... PM slipup, or cross-world conspiracy? You decide...

Thse are all places or part of place names. Bite i think is Great Australian Bite, Danish = Denmark, Lime = Lime Regis, Chile = Chile, Cheddar = Cheddar

Our Song

For http://salkfamily.com/andnowshebeginstopursueme/ the clue is Our Song, and the only song I can find is "Make A Stand" by Roll For Damage, but no matter what form i put it in, it's not working. Other more creative types may want to experiment with it and maybe find something which works.
