ZEE BANHAMMER! IT IZ FALLING!

Frankie wrote:
Q: When does the Autoupdate go Live?
A: Tomorrow morning. At an undisclosed time.

Q: What is in this autoupdate?
A: Most of the stuff in this autoupdate is designed to fix cheating, security or minor, invisible bugs, but one thing you will notice right away, is that the Relic teleporter bug has been fixed, so you can no longer crouch jump to get through a locked teleporter. That's going to make team games a lot more palatable on one of the bigger, more complex maps in the game.

Q: What will happen to a player if his or her Xbox contains modded content?
A: You will be banned if you are detected playing our game with modified Halo 2 content. Your ban will be from matchmaking, it will be permanent, and there will be no appeal process.

Hmm...maybe now I'll actually make an effort to get Live and play Halo2 online.

I was really bummed the other day. We started up a TS matchmaking game, turn out 4 on 4 (in groups of 2) and the other two on our team, every time they'd appear, would grenade themselves to death. When we were like "WTF?" They said "STFU, We're 20 levels higher than you, you're nothing."

So, of course, I bugged the living snot out of them for the rest of the game, asking them to shoot me, telling them how cool they must be if they have to drop levels in order to play, all of that. Smile They were jerks, and that brought up a good point.

BUNGIE has said that they won't ban people for teamkilling (I've yet to see specifics said on suiciding, but manipulating levels seems fairly cut and dry). However, XBL WILL ban people for poor behavior, rude behavior, and cheating. So, I pretty much know that sending a note to bungie is a lost cause on the matter, but XBL may ditch them for ruining the games for everyone they play against.

So, I report them for their attitude instead of for the cheating that made their attitude a problem in the first place.

yeah, it has unfortunately become a makeshift pasttime game of some elitist players to de-level.

Apparently some of them consider it a harder challenge then levelling because of the new way XP works and all.

It shouldnt be right to hurt other players doing it though.

If they want to de-level, they should find a party of 4 to de-level as a group, not enter as a twosome.

I think you had the right idea by goading them to shoot you. Next time I'm online, I'm going to try an experiment. If I grenade myself to death, but you're standing too close, do I get penalized for betrayal? If so, that has some advantages:

* My (the griefer's) respawn time goes up, which gives you more time to play without me.
* In a team slayer match, your death won't count as an enemy kill, so you have effectively prevented either team from scoring on you for a little longer.
* With a little luck, you'll get the chance to boot me for betraying you, and you can continue the game without my handicap.
