My name is a name I created for FFXI which I play semi-regularly depending on how ragged work is running me. (I hate 3rd shift) It's first carnation is as you see now, but when I had to make a new character with a different account from when I started (Started on my roommate's account) I had to add an extra 'n' to the end.
I am now known as Elsherann on the Shiva server. If you play there, send me a note
Pronunciation: L-shur-ron
More or less.
Till again...

Mine is the name given to me when my friends and I started our little Raw Deal team. (It was small at the time, I think there's like 20 of us now) Anyway we started with 4 people, and we all liked the Five Deadly Venoms, so we each took the name of one of them. Oddly enough, our poersonalities match our characters pretty well too.

Well Cassandra,
Babelfish came up with:

which when said in the manner of Papa Lazarou, is extremely amusing, but as nobody believes a word you say however accurate entirely irrelevant

I see you've taken it to heart
Aeschylus may prove to be more enlightening

Well, "R. I. Barnica" is a namified (ineffectual coining of words in lieu of figuring out the proper one is now allowed, as it is past business hours, and I've got tommorrow off work - anyway) namified version of "ribarnica", which is serbian for fishmonger... which ties in to the Mad Fishmonger of Fortean fame, and also to my true surname which loosely translated into english, could mean fishmonger.
ribarnica is pronounced ree-bar-NEEt-sah (to my american ear)... but R. I. Barnica is pronounced R. I. (as the letter names) BAR-nick-ah for some reason. Or so I hereby declare. Its been my off and on screen name since I married a serbian girl some years back (never mind how long precisely).

Who can guess where mine came from?
(Hint: It may be a lack of imagination)

...or a very subtle sense of irony....
mine is an obvious homage to a favorite tv-show, replete with insane scientists, evil criminal masterminds, and the secret worldwide crime organization from which i have lifted the name.

I've tried some other names, but fFor the life of me I cant get behind them. The only name which ever seems to fFit me under any circumstances is Scott. Sometimes I'll resort to Skotte when Scott is taken (such as LJ). I can roleplay other names fFine enough. but then I'm roleplaying or acting or something else. I guess my strong sense of identity makes me a pretty good roleplayer/actor: I know who I am, and so can dissocciate fFrom it and move to something else easy enough. But when I'm being me .. I gotta be me.
