Been doing a little research on the motorbike and so far have come up with these two possibilitis

1967 Yamaha YDS5E http://home.pacbell.net/geetumor/index_pic02.html

1966 Yamaha YDS3 Catalina/Big Bear http://home.pacbell.net/geetumor/index_pic04.html

I'm told that it is definitely a Yamaha.

I had thought the bike was a Triumph from around the mid 60's, I'd then tried to work out an anagram of the EODMF XRUTH FHURG IFULP, triumph and flux could be related to "if entropy wins", but it kinda falls apart after that. Still I thought it was worth mentioning.

Came across this page on Honda's website which lists about 250 motorbikes (not all Hondas) through the years. Ive looked at about the first 200, and the one that i think looks most like the one on the card is the Kawasaki 900. Ive tried some of the suggestions on the bike on this thread as the keyword and many other ones myself with no success. This card is really starting to get to me! Sad

the name for a joker in California clubs is "man with a star"

when looking for picture of motorbikes I found
http://www.moto-histo.com/jawacz/jawacz.htm
which has a picture of a motorbike called the Jawa 350 "california" - 1968

Could california be a possible passcode?

I admit the bike doesnt look exactly like the ones on the card (exhaust is wrong for a start) but having looked around a bit it seems that model has been redesigned quite a few times, perhaps one of the later/earlier designs would be closer.

However california wouldnt take into account the entropy thing, or the made in china on the side of the pack, and they seem too important to ignore, but you never know.

I havent tried california as a passcode, if anyone else has some spare time you could do it and tell me how it works out Very Happy I need to get back to my chemistry homework (which is on entropy Sad ) luckily A-level chemistry isnt anywhere near as hard as this puzzle

Cypher

Maybe this has been said. Im sure it has. Perhaps this is TWO cyphers.

First Decode the Heat Sensitive text.

Then use decipherd text as the key for the unhidden text using solitare cypher.

So far i see a lot of people trying to decipher the first chunk, and kinda ignoring the rest.

Just an idea.

Has anyone tried Cognivia as the key? (Seeing as cognivia is on the back of the card)

This may sound a little stupid but it's a fresh idea...
Joker + star... possibly a jokster in the academy?

Just out of curiosity, has anyone tried to put in all the names from the Perplexcity website/history as answers just to see if we can fluke it?

How about Caine? He sprang to mind with his attempt to "paint the town yellow"!

If this is a Solitaire cipher, then the key is on the card somewhere, because of the txt clue that is being given out for the card. Not sure if I'm allowed to post it, but here it is:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Examine the card more closely. If you're feeling cold, you're overly sensitive. As for the code, everything you need is there.

I'm not entirely convinced it is a Solitaire cipher, but as I don't have any other solid ideas to throw forward, all I can offer is a few observations. If the "outward looks" refers some of the face cards then here are some things to note (forgive me if posted beforehand):

King of Diamonds - Looking left, holding an axe.

Jack of Hearts - Looking left, holding and axe and a feather.

Jack of Spades - Looking right, holding a mace? (Not sure on what the object is)

Clubs is the only suit with all faces looking forward.

Not much help probably, but thought I'd post all the same.

Some observations:-

Going back to the card, there was an anonymous note.

'Suggesting I should be at the Five of Cups bar one night'

Although we dont know exactly how the note was worded,

FIVEOFCUPS is 10 letters long

FIVEOFCUPSBAR is 13 letters long

also

BEATTHEFIVEOFCUPSBARONENIGHT spookily says 'Beat the five of cups Baron Enight' which is very nearly Knight

Beat the baron knight?? Could this be a clue/key??

But then the If Entropy wins…was whispered to him, so could there be two levels of encryption?

I could probably find all sorts of things that aren't there, but could be worth investigating??

Hi all, first post so please go easy on me

Has anyone tried using a Passphrase within the Solitaire encryption algorithm, to key the deck? I have tried a few including using Made In China and the 108 code on the side of the pack (ummmmm....108 characters if you remove the disappearing letters, if we need a 54 length code 52 cards + jokers, this serie of characters starts to look more interesting...any ideas) will little succes but using the first 10 heat sensative letters as a passphrase and the second as the source I got:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):

ARTOX YZOPA

has anyone heard or an ART or ARTOXY ZOPA within perplex city?

Found this site http://www.made-in-china.com and had a look for motorbikes, found a couple, tried some letter to playing card position conversions but failed to get very far but the site my be of use to you Wink

also tried using the 108 character left after heating to try to produce a pack order but again doing simple maths stuff on the numbers exacted, failed to produce the right numbers to describe our pack order...maybe someone can try more complete stuff of the 108 letters.
