Laughing The whole "286 PC with 5 1/4 floppy" explanation is just so dumb, I don't know where to begin.

Goes looking for that website where you could stick pins in a voodoo doll and curse your loved ones...
This one, perhaps? http://www.instantvoodoo.com/default.asp

I found that one, but no - years ago, probably while still hanging out on the yahoo board of a much earlier game, someone found a great voodoo doll site. You could do/say evil stuff and even send the virtual doll anonymously (I vaguely recall; maybe not that). I remember red pin heads and a better doll. The link above is pretty tame - the smiley face pins say nice things, for heavens sake! I guess it'll do in a pinch...

So in otherwords - the password is incorrect. Any password will allow the directory folders to come out, but only a correct one will decode the files.

So Steve, Sarah's missing boyfriend, is really an evil alien CYBEX (watch out, you could be one of them too) sent to the future or past by Ferretcorp ....

We must now find him (or find when/where he was sent), probably by cracking a password that took Ferretcorp 83 years to crack to open files they weren't supposed to share but are sharing due to how annoyed they are at having to use an old computer to crack the password.

This. Rocks. Laughing

Also noted:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
There are two incorrect links on the Information page:

"Service" links to http://www.ferretcorp.com/html/diary.html
"History" links to http://www.ferretcorp.com/html/contents.html

Neither of these pages are working... giving 404 errors.

Not yet... although I'm seeing a strange aberration:

When I try to unzip using "wood" as the password, I get the error "Invalid compressed data to inflate" on the phun.jpg file (all the others say "the password is incorrect"). Any other password I've tried gives me "the password is incorrect" on all files.
