Basically you take what was given to each roach at each step and convert it to binary from whatever base it is currently at (binary is base2). You then convert the binary to ASCII to get the letters. What's really annoying is that for each iteration you lower Sarah's base by 1 and increase Steve's base by 1

This might help you understand a little better

Here are the songs/sounds (and the pictures that go with them):

Spoiler (Rollover to View):

"Final Countdown" by Europe (various sayings from Sarah's blog)

Line from "Planes, Trains, and Automobiles" spoken by Steve Martin
"By the wayt... when you're telling these little stories, here's a good idea.. have a point!" (various saying from Sarah's blog)

Line from "Apollo 13" spoken by Tom Hanks
"Houston, we have a problem" (various sayings from Sarah's blog)

Roach noises? (Roaches)

"Paradise by the Dashboard Light" by Meatloaf (dancing robots)

Explosion (robots explode)

Scream (explosion and heart merge, then heart falls)

Theme from the TV Show "Alice" (Pixie with cherry floats over heart)

Theme from the TV Show "Happy Days" (Wiggles with Boobahs)

So some wild spec on interpretting the flash at flamingheart.biz:

Final Countdown:
We're heading into the final countdown before ARGfest (and I'm still upset that I can't be there though that is beside the point)

Planes, Trains, et. al:
People will be travelling in using various means of all sorts and this little story should really have a point to it.

Houston...:
We've been given a problem to solve w/ Cybexez, roaches, etc.

Paradise & Explosions:
And we have to solve it and figure out how to asplode the evil cybexez in order to round the bases and get the goods (the home run)

Alice & Wiggles, etc.:
I'm not too sure on this one but, there are 4 wiggles and 2 boohbas (4orty 2wo)?

But maybe on "Saturday what a day" the PMs will be "Rockin all week with you [lucky bastards at ARGfest]"

/end of wild spec

Alternative wild [META] spec:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
"By the way... when you're telling these little stories, here's a good idea.. have a point!": commentary on the recent quality of "indie" ARGs with quotes that would fit well with many of them.

"Houston, we have a problem": see above

Then the roaches (unprepared and/or inexperienced PMs?) come and take a great thing (dancing robots, that would "make me so happy for the rest of my life") and cause them to crash and burn.

The great present of new people who might love the ARG genre (along with the love and trust of more experienced ARGers) come and are burned.

After much work (cooking, cleaning, etc) the nice ARG fairy is able to pick the people up, "turn [things] around", and make for "happy days" for all. What could be happier than Wiggles and Boohbah??? They sure make my 2 year old happy Laughing

Shocked Wink

But with my recent success at understanding these things correctly, I'm sure I'm WAY off.

OK, so I'm ashamed to know this, but those are 3 different boohbahs (yellow=Humbah, pink-Jingbah and purple=Zumbah) Not sure if the PMs knew that though Wink They look pretty close.

Don't be ashamed. You've got "chillins"... I've learned more about the Teletubbies and various PBS kids shows this year than I'd care to mention. Rolling Eyes

i decompiled the H4X0RZ.swf and in red text it says "in transition you need patience" which lead me to http://www.theflamingheart.biz/transition/patience/

theres a countdown and in the source..

"<!-- You have reached the final destination, but that is only the first step! Greater things are coming, and you have only skimmed the surface. But now you must wait, to find out WHY Steve really is. -->

That would be during ARGfest...interesting Smile I wonder if it's for the benefit of those attending or for those who will be staying home.

Is it selfish of me to hope the latter? Sad
