The cards that still have not been placed are as follows

H2, H3, H5, C2, C3, C5, D3, D6, D7, S2, S3, S7 and J1 J2

Odd as this is. It leaves me thinking that the two unknown silvers
are in fact the two jokers. I say this because currently
that would leave us with exactly 3 per suit still unknown.

I somehow made a mistake in there. But after adding those three
we have these as the final missing ones.

C - 3, 5
D - 3, 7
H - 2, 5
S - 2, 3, 7
Joker - A, B

Hello there,

Thanks for your email.

I'm afraid that we have no knowledge of the "prime number" cards which you
speak of.

Best regards,

...Which means, In Character-ly, that the puzzle scribes are not involved with putting the card symbols/letter pieces on the cards, in my interpretation.

Five of Clubs and Seven of Spades will be on upcoming Wave 4 cards (unless there's been a change before printing) depicting Urban Parking signs and the St. Ives riddle. Think these were yellow and red cards, respectively.

Cards needed arranged by colour:

2 Red (29,31)
1 Orange (61)
0 Yellow
1 Green (127)
1 Blue (157)
1 Purple (191)
2 Black (193,223)
1 Silver (239)

So, Cassandra, I don't think it was a yellow =)

Also, a reminder of what's on what cards, and this one CAN be updated and changed, unlike a guests. I'm not posting this to spam, I'm posting this because there is no reference. I don't have access to the wiki, which is out of date, and X_X can't change his post (Get an account, jeez)

I have a terrible memory sometimes Razz begins with a 1, though that won't narrow it down much.

Scott, did you ever get a picture of the parking sign card? What was its number and exact title, if you did?

Has anyone tried 229 and 233 under ultraviolet light yet?

BOLD number on complex basic

Hi everyone!

i Just got my first pack of PXC cards and by far the most fun puzzle to solve so far was #149 - complex basic. After solving this card i was curious what the queen of hearts mark pertained to, which brought me to unfiction. So, I have been reading the forum talk about a cypher pertaining to all the suited, prime numbered cards and i noticed something that i have not read anyone else mentioning.

Do any of the other suited cards have a point value or other number in bold? In the case of complex basic the point value,38, is in bold. could this be the position that the Queen of hearts holds in the cypher?

i have a basic understanding of a solitare cypher thanks to Neal Stephenson's book Cryptonomicon. A great book if you can read 1152 pages...

We've got the order that they go in, and we noticed that they seem to be spelling a message. More info in this very forum.

The Solitaire Cypher idea has been done to death in the thread on the silver card 'shuffled'... is it relevant? Perhaps not just yet. We're not sure. Smile

I think there could be something to this bold number thing (sorry if it's been mentioned before, couldn't spot anything via search). These cards all have bold numbers:

67, 89, 149, 173, 199, 181, 227, 251

One possibility is that they're bold because the numbers are printed over the ghost letters (but then, some seem to have it, and some don't). Another is that it's due to a new print run (but then, some of the Wave 3 cards don't have them).

Questions for MC

I know weve asked if each puzzle is self contained and can be solved without any outside information.

Have we bothered to ask if infomation outside the card "COULD" be used to solve a puzzle card?

I mean its possible there is meta data on these cards which could "help" us
solve a puzzle (like Shuffled) but isnt necessary for a solve.

Here's an update from the Wave 4 cards I have so far:

Red #029 - 7 Diamonds
Red #031 - 7 Spades

Orange #061 - 5 Clubs

Green #127 - 5 Hearts

Purple #191 - 3 Spades

Black #223 - Joker

They all have letter shapes on them except for the Joker (it does have a list of numbers printed as the background to the card but I don't know whether they relate to the puzzle or the playing card sequence).
