What I'm about to say may well come across as harsh, for which I will apologise now, but I'm afraid microgrim's [series of] posts have tipped me over the edge.

When you post in this forum, it is invariably because you want to recruit people to your team. You're not trying to hire staff, where you'll pay them a good wage, give them a car, and plonk them in a nice shiny office. No, you're asking them to give up their free time to help *you* implement your idea.

Now why is it that people do not seem to understand the huge importance of portraying themselves as a competent and professional person at this stage?

What am I talking about, you ask? SPELLING!

Would you work for a company whose products fell apart? Or for a boss who was obviously incapable of undertaking even the simplest of tasks? I would guess not. Why is it, therefore, that people posting do not seem to realise that taking 10 seconds out of their life to read what they have just typed and make sure it contains no grammatical or spelling errors is a very good use of their time. Is it really that hard? Are you really that lazy?!!

All that it results in is the more capable people seeing these shoddy cries for help, and ignoring them. They will then form teams with people who they know to be able to work to a higher standard, leaving requests like this for people who do not understand that need for such things, resulting in a much lower quality game.

This also goes for people who post anywhere on Unfiction. Your posts are what people see of you, what they use to draw their opinions about you, and how they judge you. If they are littered with typos then what are they to think?
