Well, I read the first page, the last couple, and I notice that people are reaching back to the past, and I feel nostalgic, so you're going to get the timeline. Deal. Razz
//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
// OK, I'll mark off the irrelevant parts for you, if you don't give a crap, skip down.

Back in the BBS days (and I'm not that old, just been using computers since I could see), I wanted something dark and scary (oooh), so I chose Scythe, being as that's the instrument of Death (it's later become at least one character name that I know of, and probably plenty of others). As the world moved on, I began dabbling in the pioneering days of 1337 (something that I now despise). My name became N8, then when that was being used too often, N8dunn. Later I wanted to go back to dark and scary (oooh) so I, like many before me, had a brainfart moment. I was trying to remember the name of a Marilyn Manson song, and misremembered the lyrics instead, and came up with FeelingOfDecay (the song is called Minute of Decay, the lyrics are "I feel the minute of decay"). That one hung on for awhile, until I decided that I had outgrown it (though it does still pop up every now and again). At that point I went back the N8dunn. It's compact, it's my name, and it doesn't have any numbers at the end. Works pretty well for me.

// End of nostalgia.
/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

So, a few months ago I decided to change my online persona. I became TheIllustratedMan in any new accounts for two reasons:

1) I love Ray Bradbury (look him up, he's great)
2) I fully plan to become an Illustrated Man, if I can ever align my schedule with my tattoo artist's.

So, long winded answer to a simple question, but I'm bored and, like I said, feeling nostalgic. So...

...yeah.

[EDIT]

Tack a third reason on there:
3) The Illustrated Man is, in his own way, a storyteller. I like to think that I am, in my own way, also a storyteller. Although I rarely get the chance these days. :-\

So once upon a time, back in the world of Elementary School, before the internet ever existed in my line of thinking, I was a bookish child of tender years and comparatively prodigious intelligence. My gym teachers, those bastions of childhood embarassments, settled upon me as the bright hope that would supply the cure for that terrible disease... Jelloarm.

Now, for those of you unfamiliar with the disease, jelloarm is a direct product of attempting the tripod. For those of you unfamiliar with childhood gymnastic practices, a tripod is the preliminary step to a headstand; your head and two hands are placed on the ground, and your knees are placed on your elbows, creating a small, inverted ball of a child. When the gymnast has jelloarm, the weight of their body causes their arms to shake, rather like jello. Hence, jelloarm.

Now this followed me throughout elementary school (including a scandal where I was accused of using grant money to purchase a new house; the allegations were eventually dropped), and when I moved to middle school, my gym teacher got elevated with me, leading to the nickname's cross-era tenacity. By the time high-school rolled around, the name had faded into antiquity... almost.

But then arrived the Intertubes.

When my family purchased AOL, I was a freshman in high school. My parents allowed me to create my own account, and when making my screenname, I settled upon that name of my childhood. Being unique enough that no one else had settled upon it, it became my handle for nearly all of my internet excursions.

Well, I'll be. Maybe the cure will cover that too.

My name comes from My real First name (Mike) and everybody calls me Batt from my last name (Batterman)

So, M =Mike 13A77 (looks like BaTT if you squish it together and kinda squint) Ergo M13A77 = MBaTT

Can't believe I've never done this.

Apparently Nos is a very manly name, which means I am likely the only female in the world to choose it.

How it came about is simple and a little embarrassing. I have been on the internets since I was an angsty 13 year old. Nosferatu was my very first user name. I later shortened it to Nossy, and then simply, Nos. :p

So end my mental pictures of Nos as a dental professional or professional drag racer. Smile

Well, my nick came from the fact that in '98, Half-Life came out with its multiplayer. I had been playing UT for a little while, but never online. So, my brother and I both got Half-Life, and I had never thought of an internet handle for myself. My first one was Death_Trap, which i quickly decided sucked. My brother's handle was Swiss_Cheese cause he sucks at FPS' and gets riddled full of holes lol.

So, when it came time for me to pick a new name, I was heavily into Dragon Ball Z. So, even though the Fusions from the show still hadnt aired here in the US at the time, my brother had tons of imported episodes and movies from Japan with subtitles. Anyway, I saw Vegito (Vegita and Goku fused together) and I wanted to keep with the cheese-theme my brother had started. So, I decided on Vecheeso, a fusion of Vegito and a piece of cheese. This also explains why my avatar pic has anime-eyes hehe. Makes sense?

My name's kinda simple: It's pronounced Gregorin, or Gregorian, in an alternate spelling created by several unFic'ers. Basically, I was into medieval-ish stuff, and that seemed to be a good name. 95 = 1995, year I was born, so that's it.

I cant believe its been so long since ive seen you around these parts! *hugz*

Guess I should also chime in before threadjacking Smile

Many many moons ago when my third world country of Scotland first achieved access of the internet, I became involved in many unsavoury computer related events. After a few years and many bad alternative nicknames, around 2003 someone suggested I was a Chixor (female hacker/computer geek) and it just stuck.
So im pretty much known as Chixor most places, but should that name be taken, i append with a 1.
Hence Chixor1 (an using Chixor1 on most forums separates me from my other identities online).
