xbox360.com flash, interesting things

If anyone has viewed the flash at xbox360.com you know it's a little bit wierd for a microsoft, or even xbox related site. My main logic revolves around the images in which you have to drag the dots to the corners. One of them contains french text "choisissez votre chemin" which translates to "choose your way". I'm wondering why french and how does this relate to xbox 360.

While searching around in the flash file, I found several references to akqa, that turns out to be a flash design company partnered with xbox. http://akqa.com/. The flash source continues on with a reference to com.akqa.sf.xenon, I reversed it to get http://xenon.sf.akqa.com, oddly, a password protected site.

None of this really makes any sense to me yet, but I figure maybe one of you professionals can help.

I don't work with flash, but I'm guessing the reversal of the url is standard practice when naming flash objects. That's how it's done for java code as well. It does look puzzly, but I'm pretty sure it isn't actually part of a puzzle. Maybe someone who works with flash can confirm.

Do you know when that site originated? I've never seen it before

I picked up on that but it looks like a fairly complex marketing site for something that *I've* never seen a reference to...

I found it, one link off of Xbox-live's about page, small in the right column. hmmm

Good old Troy D. Chinula

That's been around for awhile, wouldn't surprise me if they re-launched it for the xbox360 Live though.

Looks like they have passwords set up for lots of different clients, probably for the purpose of portfolios and design concepts for ads & websites.

Also, completely off topic, but the pic and the talk of flash instantly reminded me of one of my favorite flash games: http://www.deviantart.com/view/8666529/

dunno about u but its seems to me like a puzzle because "choiserez votre chemin" means choose your way (living in france does pay off a bit). Get your scizzors out and START CUTTING!!! and i think the final answer will give us a clue or password.

That site is so strange. I really like it, but it's weird that they would do things like this -- especially since they're trying to get non-gamers to become Xbox users.

I just noticed this, at the very beginning of the flash, right after it finishes loading and all of the rings are appearing, I see an "8" flash on the screen quickly. Any thoughts?

I'm working to dig through all the flash related to the colony/xbox 360. Does anyone have the olf .swf files anywhere?

Choisi Votre Chemin

I've been confused by this pic for way to long now...

I used to know some French and that phrase "choose your way" is fairly simple to translate. (I didn't even know M$ could speak french) The way it's presented isn't, Why did they choose to place those background images in a random order... I wonder if they can be moved around or rotated to change the letters. Or could they be assigned values like the dots to translate??

Another interesting picture has been while that is more straight forward than the other one, it still just doesn't seem to fit in with the rest.

I've been through the fla files several times and nothing is popping out at me as hidden.

On the note about the flash, they choose odd "placeholders" (ie. O & X) to go in empty spaces.... why not leave then trasparent?

If anyone can get me an old version of the Colony's flash I'd like to sift through it for similiarities with the xbox360 flash...[/url]
