Okey, first of all i've tried overlaying the image over another....as it sorta suggests it makes a new sentance out of a bunch of text:

http://wiki.incognitus.net/thecarer/index.php/Image:Buildings_and_wordsearch.jpg

Not successful, maybe something else?

I can't help thinking it looks like a floor plan of some kind - possibly something to do with Iain Denby? But other than that I'm clueless.

in your image with the word search it looks like JRG is highlighted, even if its not an R, it still looks close

Have been on vacation and am just now catching up, but is the pattern possibly translatable?

I was thinking along the same lins as Phaedra, sorta. To me, it looks like the middle of the picture, so I tried patterning them in a block. But nothing, really.
Maybe you have to turn them? Like 90 degrees everytime or something. I dunno. I'm stumped! Very Happy

EDIT: You what it reminds me of? Those pictures where they put a word (usually Jesus, for some reason) and they only fill in the outside area. At first glance it looks like a bunch of randomly spaced blocks, but when you squint your eyes kind of, you can see the word that it spells. (Bad description, I'll see if I can find a picture to explain it better!) There doesn't seem to be a word in here, as far as I can see.

Well, that wasn't quite what I meant. Smile

Looking at the picture, the blocks of color seem to be comprised of rows of even height (some of them are doubled), and width-wise, there also appear to be standard unit sizes.

I'm wondering if the pattern is meaningful.

If we determine the size of the base unit, and then count the number in each block, we would presumably get a string of numbers which might be meaningful.

However, I am currently on Vicodin, so you should treat this idea accordingly.

Starting at the top, the first two big blocks have the same width. But the thrid (after the big space in the center) is slightly larger, and the fourth larger again. The other small boxes don't fit in any sort of logial pattern inside the large ones.

Unless I didn't do what you were thinking of. Razz

Here is something a little strange, but I don't know if it means anything. When I first saw the picture, I thought someone had just taken two colors of squares in Paint and plopped them together. So I figured I'd try some old fashioned graphic editing, and took it back into Paint. But when I was using the fill bucket, it showed that there were lines around the darker blocks, kind of like the ones they use on maps to show elevation. I noticed that if you did a 'Replace Color' in a graphics program, these little lines would show up as well. I don't have Photoshop on this computer, but maybe someone with some skills could take a lookie?

Pink = Original background not colored by black
Black = The pink part that did color
Red = Original foreground not colored by grey
Grey= Parts of red that did color

I would have expected all the pink to go black and all the red to go grey. Right?

I think that's just the jpg compression. JPEG is really unfriendly to red.

-Stumped As Hell-
I think we can get this tho. I've tried multiple things like putting it over the letter and playing with ps filters.
