Yeah, thats a great idea. I thoroughly enjoyed that webcast, especially beginning where Adrian and Michael were discussing Perplex City, and the lady at the end (couldnt catch her name, missed the beginning of that part Sad ) giving a fruitful insight as to the true meaning of Alternate Reality GAMING (not games Wink ) Did anyone catch what her e-mail and website addresses were, please?

Biopunk, could you please reduce your avatar size to the 100X100 pixel limit?

Thanks. Smile

I second what is said above, it was great fun being able to follow what was happening over at ARGfest and the quality was astonishing too... thanks to all the sponsors for making it possible!

Any update on a recording? I missed most of it due to sleeping...

EDIT: nvm, Giskard is working with Anaerin to upload it.

Aww, Giskard doesn't have the MU bit (and I couldn't get the feed to work!). Does anyone else have a recording? Failing that, abacus will get their recording out soon, right? Like, in a few minutes? Crying or Very sad

I'm sorry Omnie Sad

I found out that the software I had ready to record the stream didn't work, so Dopefiend was so kind to e-mail me better stuff, which did work, but I had to set it up in a rush because I was about to leave, so I ended up with some corrupted .asf files and one of about 50Mb that is almost exactly one hour long and covers the entire last hour bit of the Heist discussion.

After that, the Abacus people turned the webstream off during lunch and the recorder didn't pick it up after they restarted during the Metacortechs discussion, so I do not have that, nor Jane's excellent presentation.

Anaerin is working on putting that one Heist recording online at the moment.

Thanks to everyone who made the webcast happen. I was really impressed by the quality and stability of the stream.

As was I. There were a few glitches but nothing that really ruined it. Thanks again Abacus!

It was very nice to be able to follow the proceedings at the other end of the world. Laudation to the webcast people, to the ARGfest organizers and to Celina, who is ace at multitasking Smile .
Hope to be able to attend one fine day (ARGfest Europe?).

Ok, thanks to Anaerin, the bit I recorded is now available for your viewing pleasure here.

It's from about half an hour into the "Art of the Game" presentation by the Art of the Heist crew, all the way to the end. Forgive me that I am not entirely sure about the names of the speakers, but I think some of the ARGfest attendees could supply us with them. Closing off by taking questions is Dave Szulborski.

umm. I can't fast forward through the video. Is that a problem on my end, or the video format?

I believe Giskard recorded it that way....so it's a format issue.

It's a problem with the way it is recorded. I'm not too familiar with recording these things, but I have more .wmv's / .asx's that were recorded from a stream that are not "browsable" in any way, so I'm not sure if it's something that goes with the filetype, or something about the way I recorded it... I suspect it has something to do with the fact that the file is not being closed off properly so it cannot calculate where the end is, and can also not calculate points in between...

You can click through a recorded asf stream with a no-frills viewer such as Irfanview (great for viewing a LOT of different image file types too).
