Ach, so is it really true that the Metacortechs presentation was not recorded??
I watched it on the webcast... Didn't the company that did the webcasting record it?

The webcast people were supposed to be recording everything. They also said they would need people to sign a release form....if you haven't signed that there may have a problem...

I believe all the Metacortechs peeps sent our release, but I also kept hearing that a tape was being changed as we were talking or something, and so we were not recorded, which is why I was asking.

I saw the cameraman change a tape. I'm not exactly sure when he did it, or how many times, but I know he did it at least once.

Omg, I hope that is not true
We have not heard anything from the Abacus people yet, so I'm not quite sure what the status is. I wish they had not shut the camera off during the lunchbreak, I would have recorded everything through to Jane's talk...

Yeah, they had to shut it off while they weren't there so there wouldn't be any "hijinks" while it was unattended. I guess if someone pulled an X Rated stunt and someone else saw it and complained, it would be Fine City.
I really REALLY hope the tape change didn't happen then... or that if it did, they managed to record at least *some* of it...

For the impatient among us, Dopefiend recorded the PXC talk, available to download here . (Expires Saturday 30th.) The majority of it is also in the nicer skip-through / adjustable playspeed format.

1. What's the news on the web cast company releasing the footage from ARGfest?
2. Does ANYBODY have the Art of the Heist talk from the beginning? I wanted to use the bit about marketing for a project. Please please PLEASE somebody say they have it. It's actually quite important.

ARGFEST DVD All i know is that it is in process, we have everyone's waiver so that shouldn't be an issue. For the footage, maybe you can PM HaxanMike or Flmutant or cabalagent23 and check with them?
I will email the company abacus video again as well.

ARGFEST DVD Abacus video not only broadcast the webcast for free (an expensive proposition) but also recorded all the raw footage. They are now editing that footage (also for free) adding titles, names of presenters, etc. They are also working through the "legalities that sometimes interfere with production." That isn't an issue, just something that has to be completed. But ...they will produce a DVD of the edited, clean-up version of the webcast.
We are really fortunate to have professionals like this donating their time for us. There is no way we could have paid for anything close to the work they did. Everyone agrees that the quality of the webcast and the camera was the best they had ever seen. So I truly thank them for all their work. (They worked all through ARGFest-o-con and didn't even get to join us at any of the parties.)
At this point, it looks like the DVD will be available before the end of August - hopefully at the end of the next two weeks.
Like the rest of us, they have to work their ARG time in with jobs that actually pay money!
~also, to dispel the concerns about the Metacortechs PMs presentation not being recorded I have this email from Alex "If they were present at the convention, we recorded it. We have almost 5 hours
of footage." No wonder it takes time to edit this.

Thank you so much, rose, for the update! You are fantastic, and the Abacus peeps are similarly fantastic!
