Doing an Abba Discography shows that on their first album there is a song titled "I've Been Waiting For You"
just a tenuous link?

Oh man, an ABBA themed ARG? Oh, and even if there is some kind of 'waiting' clue, that still basically tells us we have to wait. Boo.
Just for kicks and giggles (and because I was thinking about Stairway to Heaven last night) I decided to play the song backwards. But besides it sounding like a very catchy Russian pop song, nothing.

Well S.O.S and ABBA are the same front and backwards.
Don't know where I am going with that though. I also analyzed both image and mp3 file and have come up short like the rest. Going to keep plugging away though. Like I'm actually gonna work? It's a Monday. People don't work on Mondays.

I signed up for this and got the email as well. I just thought I'd introduce myself here since I've been lurking for a bit and it's my first ARG.
Get out the platforms and disco balls! Maybe they'll send us "Dancing Queen" next!

i took a hint from the http://www.freewebs.com/radiogaga/ URL and tried http://www.freewebs.com/sos looks semi argish....but i doubt it is anything...also came across http://www.freewebs.com/abba ...the ABBA crossword looked promising, but i can't get it to work and besides that this looks like a legit fan site...since the pm seems to be using all the free website providers...maybe we should use this idea on them...ie geocities...angelfire...etc....
i just came across this today, i have been ignoring it b/c of the "SOLVED" in the title...but i fired off an email at 9pm....so i hope i get accepted....doesn't look like the GREATEST game,,,but its something to do.

New Email Titled "Some of you where [sic] late for a very improtant [sic] date":
Quote:
Alas...
There where a few of you who missed the deadline for the initial
application. These people should be receiving this communication now.
With much thought and consideration I have decided to allow these late
comers to continue...
Many of you have been requesting information about the next trail...
Well let me tell you now, who said anything about a second trail? One
final piece of the jigsaw is still missing. Once it arrives, the fun
can begin...
Finally, a further common question which has been asked is where is
"The Trail" based... We are based in ENGLAND.
Hold on tight as we continue to play the waiting game...
READY TO PLAY MY GAME? WITH MY RULES?
The Trail...
there is also wonderland....wav attatched.

Very odd. The misuse of "where" for "were" and the misspelling of "important" are pretty basic errors. Accordingly, one would expect the rest of the email to have similar spelling, syntax and grammatical errors.
But it doesn't. Too many ellipses and "late comers" should probably have been hyphenated, but that's preference, not actual mistakes.
Are the misspellings clues?

'Wonderland' is a pretty, er, cool little sound clip. *Thinks of skinny English white kids beatboxing* The first thing I thought of when I heard it was Morse Code (inhale = short, exhale = long), but I guess we need a third clue to be able to figure out the whole thing? And by the pattern already started, I'm guessing it'll come tommorow?
Jeeze, now I have 'Walkin in a winter wonderland' stuck in my head. Grr.

I can't play it, being confined to a Mac. What is it?

It's someone making rhymthic breathing noises too close to a microphone. The best I can get is short short, short long long, short short, short long long, and I'm still working on the end. Even if that was morse, it's I W I W, which doesn't really work. I dunno.
SPEC...What if you maybe have to paste all three sound clues (assuming the third is a sound) on top of one another, and then you hear some secret message. Cooool.

If these spelling errors aren't intentional or clues or something, I'm going to be very annoyed. If you can't take the time to correct your spelling/grammar errors, you shouldn't be running a game... I just don't have any tolerance for that kind of mistake.

possibly ...--...--..-..-- and then some funny sigh thing right at the end.
Morse code would sorth of fit in with the title "SOS" but the breathing doesn't seem to translate to anything in either morse or binary.
