According to the Perplex City site, there is not yet a specific date, only a general note of June '05. If you've signed up your email on that site, you should get an email notifying you of when and where once the PM's get everything settled, I imagine.

I just hope that it doesn't fall on a public holiday (Queen's Birthday). When our shops are shut and the rest of the world are open =/

Also, that said.. Which shop opens first out of the nine? I have a feeling its Jeremyville =)

I e-mailed Firebox with this very question on Friday...they're usually very helpful so will definitely get a reply. Whether they're aloud to divulge is another matter of course... Smile

Its not a gagging order, they are run by the same people. The CEO of Firebox is in charge of Mind Candy (Michael Smith or something). No way of getting in the back door on this one. I'll try mind candy themself to see if they have a specific answer

Not so much a gagging order as a 'conspiracy of silence', methinks...

Yes I knew that...thank you. Should have made my post less ambiguous perhaps.

Anyway...Firebox today said:

Hi Mike

Sorry in the slight delay in getting back to you, but I can't give you anymore information to be honest. When they do arrive, the email alerts will be sent out, but until then all you can do is keep hanging on and watching that inbox!

Cheers

Hate to be unnecessarily OOG on this, but sounds to me like our friends at MC are finding the distribution end more held up than they imagined. And, you never know, maybe there's been some delay in creating the whole card set that was unexpected, and they're lagging a bit. And then, they've been having to divert their resources to simultaneously promote the game. And Firebox, as a company, must have plenty to do besides plugging Perplex City.

So, I think we owe it to them (strictly OOG, of course;)) to get off their backs for a while - I'm certain they're working as hard as they can to get things going when they can. If the cards haven't turned up by the end of June, then I think we have a right to ask them 'What the hell's going on?'. 'Tis just a pity that this delay makes things rather less interesting than they could be at our end...at least they're continuing to update the Sentinel...

This is what you get when your ARG becomes vastly complicated Smile

There could be some sort of hold up , but that may be jumping the gun a bit...it is only the 2nd of the month!!
I'm sure they want all the 9 shops to have their cards in-store first ,before they give a date, to ensure all the shops start selling the cards at the same time. So i'm assuming they will wait for confirmation from the shops then give us the date, i would expect only 24 or 48 hours notice.

I was thinking we'll hear from either the PXC autoemailer or Firebox on the date they get shipped from MindCandy to the distributors.

Which gives us 48-72 hrs notice of them being in-store. I wasn't expecting them until at least the 15th anyway.

I am kind of thinking they would give us a hint as to which week they go on sale. i.e. Madam Bianca says something about 'this week the cards are in play'. Until then.. patience (which seems to be the main ingredient of this game).
