I don't think the woman in the hat is Esme I think its someone else that we haven't met yet. When I think of Esme I think of a talk slender woman that is sort of pretty(weird but pretty)

OK Rachel I think you're right. on the latest clue is a list of V.F.D. possibilities and one of them is Dastardly Denoument, which of course is not V.F.D. and could be the title to book to twelfth. Although, on the UnfortunateEvents.com forum they seem to think it's The Tumbling Towers.

The twelfth book is revealed

http://www.grrface.com/uploaded_images/lemonysnicket-772242.jpg

The New book is THE PENULTIMATE PERIL

Beatrice dedication: "For Beatrice - No one could extinguish my love, or your house."

Back cover: "Dear Reader, If this is the first book you found while searching for a book to read next, then the first thing you should know is that this next-to-last book is what you should put down first. Sadly, this book presents the next-to-last chronicle of the lives of the Baudelaire orphans, and it is next-to-first in its supply of misery, despair, and unpleasantness. Probably the next-to-last things you would like to read about are a harpoon gun, a rooftop sunbathing salon, two mysterious initials, three unidentified triplets, a notorious villan, and an unsavory curry. Next-to-last things are the first thing to be avoided, so allow me to recommend that you put this next-to-last book down first, and find something else to read next at last, such as the next-to-last book in another chronicle, or a chronicle containing other next-to-last things, so that this next-to-last book does not become the last book you will read. With all due respect, Lemony Snicket."

Whoa...well, I'm dumbfounded. Good work pinki_lili736. Shocked

P.S. But how in the world did you find that book? It's not due out for two more days.

ok so, maybe I used obscure wrong but in the thesaurus it says a related word to nameless is obscure. So I guess I'll call it the Nameles...err...poem. Anyway. I hope everybody thinks of a name for my poem so I can choose one. Thanks again if any of you help.

how did you find that out pinki_lili736??? thats amazing!! i thought it was the dasterdly denoumount (sp???) because on today's clue the dasterdly denoumount was mixed in with v.f.d. words...or the horrid hotel because the last safe place was the hotel denoumount and because on one poster it gave you, the HORRID HOTEL was the title but it was crossed out!! thats weird!!! well we will know in 2 days!!!! Very Happy Exclamation

tbonelucille2010 did you click the link at the top of pinki_lili736's post? He or she has book the twelfth. I thought it wasn't even out yet. Such a strange name Penultimate Peril is but it makes sense considering the series is only going to be 13 books. As I'm sure most of you know, peril means "exposure to the risk of being injured, destroyed, or lost". And penultimate means "next to the last" so it's a very appropriate name for book the twelfth.

In case no one caught this, penultimate means 'next to last', which would make sense if there are 13 books in the series, this one would be the second to last one.
