special cards Hi,
I have read on gadgets.dk ( Denmarks retailer of perplex city cards ) that on some cards there are multiple solutions and on some a secret message will appear after some days in daylight. I havent tried it out yet because i just realized it today and I thought that you should know as soon as possible.

Some of them have a watermark, could that be what it means?

Michael Smith said at ARG-fest-o-con some cards may have hidden abilities, such as using ultraviolet inks and things of that sort. I dont own any cards yet, so I havent tried it. But someone should exhaust their options with blacklights, and all sorts of things.

It figures the only mention of this would be in Danish. Thanks for the translation!
Now I just wish I had a few cards to play with...
EDIT: Incidentally, my translating software came up with the following translation for that section of the page:
Quote:
card has even several solutions or has printed document, there ultimate header up after a couple of days aflame
I don't know about you, but I wouldn't really want to set my cards aflame (if I had them)

Hi,
I have read on gadgets.dk ....
By the way, do you think you could translate some more of the page for us English speakers? It looks like there might be some other interesting bits, but the automatic translation is so bad I can barely make out gist of most sentences.

Visse kort har endda flere løsninger eller har trykt tekst, der først dukker op efter et par dage i lys.
Based on my rusty swedish:
Certain cards even have several solutions or have printed text that first appears after a couple days in light.
Like the man said.

You know... It's fancy stuff like this that would lead to printing delays.

Maybe the Black Card Harmony has a solution with blacklights or something as at the moment it seems unsolvable...
didn't check the black card section before posting

re: special cards Well, I translated the whole thing, even the parts that arent important. It took me a whole lot of time, so I hope you can use it.
PERPLEX CITY
Around the world people are trying to find The Cube that is reported missing in PerplexCity. There is put out a reward on 100.000 Pounds (200.000 Dollars) or a little over one million danish kroners to the person that finds The Cube.
Anyone can be with.
To join the hunt for the money you need to be good at solving riddles and mysteries. On the internet you can find places where people from all around the world share information and help each other solving some of the riddles and mysteries.
There also exists some cards that you can buy. The cards are also riddles and mysteries and when you solve a card you have a piece of the puzzle.
ONLY AT GADGETS.DK
In 9 cities around the world there is chosen a single shop that has been allowed to sell the cards. The nine cities are Paris, Stockholm, Cape Town, Copenhagen, Berkley, Sydney, Vancouver, London and New York. In Copenhagen it is of course Gadgets.dk that has gotten permission to sell the cards that players from around the world want to get their hands on.

ARG is a new type of game, that is expected a great future for the gaming and entertainment industries. It was one of the most innovative contributions at E3 this year.
ARG stands for Altered Reality Game and the best way to explain what it is all about is by calling it a worldwide riddlegame, where everything from real world event, hidden websites, mysterious sms messages, billboard commercials, newspaper articles, radio broadcasts postcards etc.(anything goes!) together makes up the framework around a complex mystery where the line between reality and games is removed.
The player is "forced" to work together, online, with other players around the world. Either to collect and gather all the clues that are different places around the world or to ask for help on the sometimes very coded clues. This can be anything from sentences written in hieroglyphs, melodies shown only as sound waves or complicated mathematical problems.
In the first ARG games the satisfaction of being the first to solve the puzzle has been the prize but with Mind Candys £100.000 prize for whoever finds "The Cube" in PerplexCity ARG has stepped into a whole new fase.
PerplexCity started very quite about a year ago with the rumour about a postcard found in Bologne airport with an unknown skyline, where lights turned on in the windows of the scyscrapers wrote the web adress www.perplexcity.com in a binary code.
On this site a letter from Sente Kiteway was found. It encouraged earth people to help him finding Perplex City´s holy artifact "The Cube" that had been stolen and somehow sent to our world.
Since then many clues have been found, that has made the framework on a kind of epilog to the real game and then an email from Sente arrived that told that the game had started.
In the mail there was a little riddle and the first 333 to to come with an answer got a little something. These were the first 6 of in total 256 clue postcards. At the same time the Perplex city Sentinel went online (www.perplexcitysentinel.com). Here you could follow the local news from Perplex City.
Since then 10-12 websites relating to the game have been found and all the time new hints are found in newspapers, radio and TV and the 16. July (a bit late) the first cards were released in nine stores around the world. Gadgets.dk is one of these.
On www.ARGN.com ( http://forums.unfiction.com/forums.index.phc?c=18 ) all the found information are discussed by players and especially now the 66 released cards are examined very closely. Anything on the cards can be important. Some cards even have several answers or text, that only appears after some days in daylight.
The postcards are color-coded in 7 levels with the red cards easiest to the silver with a level so that even the best riddle-solver will have to give up to. All cards has a point score that soon will be able to be put in on a scoreboard (coming soon!). No-one knows what these points will be used for.
A good way to get into the game (informal) is by visiting the blog http://blog.unfiction.com/perplexcity/ . Her the most important news is posted and they make it possible to find out what has happened until now. There is also a "story so far" where the timeline and universe are explained.
P.S. The "postcards" are the cards, in case you didnt know.
