New way of organizing tools

I found the website www.konfabulator.com today. It's a website where you can download a program that lets you open a bunch of other little programs that just run on your desktop like a calander, a clock and such. The cool thing about it though is that people can make their own little programs, and I was thinking that we could use that to the advantage of the ARG world. You could have a program that alerts you of updates on a game, a program that ROTs things, a binary translater, the possibilities are big, I think. The only problem is, I'm nmot good at making things like that, or maybe there already is something similar that i just don't know about yet.

Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone thought it had any chance of actually being used.

In general, it's better to have web-based tools for the kind of things we are doing. Everyone has a web-browser, but not everyone is willing to download a new program. Developing and scripting tools on the web is also easier than creating widgets.

Today my tools are in one folder under my bookmarks menu. I'm not sure how much value it will add to put them all on one site with a common theme maybe.

Well, do you even need to bookmark it? I mean, there's the Unfiction toolbar that you can download.
