I thought of another way to hide text. Newcastle Brown Ale has a star on it's label that shows if the ale is at the right temperature to drink. Above 12°C the star is white (the colour of the paper it's printed on, so presumably on yellow paper it would be yellow, green paper it would be green, etc.) but below 12°C the star turns blue. So the card makers could use whatever ink this is to make messages appear only when the cards are cold.

I've tested this on my fairly extensive collection of cards by leaving them all in the freezer (approx -20°C) for 24 hours so that they all reach the ambient temperature (put them in a plastic bag to avoid getting ice all over them) but unfortunately nothing showed up. Cards tested are: PPC Postcard #3, PPC Tourist Info Guide, #009, #041, #042, #045, #046, #050, #051, #054, #057, #059, #074, #075, #079, #082, #087, #088, #089, #091, #105, #106, #110, #111, #112, #117, #120, #123, #138, #139, #145, #146, #149, #155, #172, #176, #179, #182, #184, #185, #208, #217, #240, #241, #244

Another couple of possibilities could be 'Magic Eye' type pictures (I thought I read about this in a PXC puzzle....but dont quote me...) and perhaps a message that relies on plane-polarised light, where something pops out if observed through a polarised lens. The more techniques that are flagged here, the more that will likely be used in the upcoming PXC cards!

My guess is that there will not be any messages too hidden that would lead us to damaging our cards. No dipping in solutions, coating with acid, or burning in the center of a pentagram to the theme song of Gilligan's Island.

ROTFLMAO!!!! Gilligan!

Hmmm. They were lost on a mysterious hidden place, large enough for, say, a CUBE!

Also in the event that Riemann can be solved, I think that the answer will be hidden, possibly in a microdot. I seem to see this little black dot in the top right corner, but that could be my little demons playing tricks on me again.

in the press release it said some messages are hidden in microscopic text on the cards, like the stamp thing in "Paycheck".

i too was bored enought to stare @ my cards for way too long. I see 5-6 cards that are Mostly (mostly) all the cards done by the PXC artist, that might have microtext in the white/black lines on the cards (i'll list those later.) but for now, i'll ask about the only card you can visably see small text on:#011-revelation.
i see small chinese or japanese letters. all over the top of the card. Hope what it says is truly a NEW revelation.... Very Happy

I see what you're talking about, but to me they just look like mini versions of the main image below.

Yes, I have to agree with Agent Lex... I just scanned it at 1200dpi (yay new scanner!!) and unfortunately they are just a bunch of (very very) small duplicates of the main image on the card...

Which cards do we suspect have microprinting on them? I'd love to put the new scanner to the test... forgive me if a list has been posted somewhere before ::prepares for trout::
