Lisa Jackson(?) -- A Berkeley student who drops out to join the Daughters of Freya, whose activities apparently involve having sex with strangers out of a belief that it will somehow lead to world peace.

Samantha Dempsey (sdempseySPLATnetsource.com)-- A freelance journalist and friend of Lisa's father who is asked to investigate the Daughters of Freya. Attended Penn State. Married to Peter, a partner in an internation construction company who travels a lot, with a son, Max. Working on obtaining citizenship in Canada and living in Toronto.

Simone Jorgensen -- Leader and "spiritual guide" of the Daughters of Freya.

Jane Sperry (SperrySPLATleftcoastmonthly.com) -- Editor/Founder (?) of Left Coast Monthly. Contacted by Samantha Dempsey regarding whether the magazine is interested in the story. Moved to London, worked for The Guardian and married an Englishman, but got divorced (no children) and returned.

Don Jackson (djacksonSPLATcustomimports.com) -- Lisa's father. Emails Samantha Dempsey looking for help for his daughter.

Karen Jackson -- Lisa's mother. On disability leave from the School Board (due to stress from Lisa's involvement with the cult?)

Max Dempsey -- Samantha's son, a freshman at Wilfred Laurier University. Dating Amy, and apparently pretty intensely involved with her (Sam says he's "majoring in his girlfriend.")

Heather Stewart (Heather_StewartSPLATtechtide.com) -- Simone's old partner at (and CEO of) Techtide, a web hosting company.

Amy -- Max's girlfriend, a beautiful 25-year-old Asian woman.

Danny -- Lisa's brother?

Tom -- Someone who went to college with Sam and Jane. Apparently Sam's old boyfriend.

Peter -- Sam's husband. His work at a construction company takes him away from home frequently, putting a bit of strain on their marriage.

Bonnie Hooper -- Jane's assistant

Fulla -- Simone's assistant

If you notice anything I've missed, please post it here. I'll update the top post as the story develops, but help is always appreciated. Wink

Also, although I'm willing to be overruled on this if people think it would be better suited to the daily/weekly threads, this might be a good place for general character discussion/speculation that's not tied to a specific email.
