[UPDATE] Sentinel - Aug 11 - Ontame Games, Meteors

Ontame Pushes Classics
By ROLAND GERBERA
Ontame Games has debuted a new upscale line of classic games in response to reviving interest in these traditional forms of play. The line, dubbed 'Ontame Eternals,' is expected to hit store shelves sometime in September, and includes such perennials as chess, pyramid, and cobblestones.
The games company has enjoyed a renewed interest in board, card and marble games over the last few years, as more and more people are looking for alternatives to electronic and interactive gaming. "This is a nice way to connect with your close friends and family," said company spokesman Leonard Basem. "A lot of folks are looking for ways to get the most out of a quiet evening at home."

Analyst Jackson Carrick agreed that a lot of the non-electronic children's toys and games have been selling to older markets. "This is a smart move, giving adults what they want," he said. "The trend is definitely away from the electronic and toward ownership of single-purpose items. These will be status items. These could be heirlooms."
Carrick also suggested that Ontame can only benefit by diversifying away from its extensive holdings in modern key and computer-based puzzles and interactive games. "This will never be their flagship product, but it helps to strengthen the position of the company overall," he said.
The new games are crafted out of luxe materials such as natural wood, stone, and sea glass. The company plans to make custom variants available on demand, for an additional fee.
Ontame Games was trading slightly up on the PCX to PCL202.38 after the announcement.

Meteor Shower Due
Stargazers should look up tomorrow night after 10pm until 4am for best viewing of this year's Madna's Tears meteor shower. The Academy's astronomy department is offering guided trips outside the city's night-time glow to would-be amateur astronomers who are interested in how the annual Tearfall has shaped city folklore and scientific knowledge.

So how long before we start seeing these offered on Firebox?

Is this the first occurrence of a physical event that is shared between our two planets? I have seen a lot of spec on the similarities between our two rocks, but had not seen a storm or other event that is shared.
As we have similar physical events happening what does this mean with regards to how the planets are linked? Would a planet that is on a parallel universe share this type of event?

Not sure if this has been spotted yet (I did a quick search and couldn't find it, does search also search the spoilers?), but the news about the trading price of Ontame Games made me wonder if this existed:
Not live yet, but it is a Go Daddy registration.

The name "Ontame Eternals" seems a little awkward. Has anyone tried looking for interesting anagrams? My quick 30 second computer search did not turn up anything that really jumped out at me.

Search for 'godaddy' or 'domain name'. There are several threads which reveal this information, though if you don't want to know other whois/parked domain name info, then avoid at all costs

I've noticed that The Sentinel's left column links list, now has the active pages underscored. Perhaps that's to cut down on the number of hits the page gets....

Hooray! After two rather wet and cloudy days, tonight it really cleared here. Been outside and seen about 6 or 7 meteors. When I did actually check, they seemed to be in the wrong part of the sky for the Perseids, as I was spotting these to the west south west. Possibly they were from the Kappa Cygnids, which also arrive at this time and are in that part of the sky.
Either way, they were fascinating to watch. I hope the Perplexians had good weather for Madna's Tears.

The Perseids are also historically known as "the tears of St. Lawrence."
