Actually, I notice how that it's the same static, but it switches from very bright to much dimmer. The bright one looks to me like entirely different static. Nonetheless, they didn't do that in any of the others, and I notice now that in every session, the static is slightly different, either shifted in location or in brightness.

It's very very worth it. I actually have never shown the series to someone and they didn't love it afterwards. Quite amazing.

As for exerpt one? Wow. What a line.

Ok, i'm halfway through watching firefly, and I need to know. How spoileriffic are these viral vids? I saw over at whedonesque that they contain spoilers, and have steered clear because I don't want to ruin anything.

I wouldn't consider them very spolerific, but, I guess, it depends on how much you know about River at this point. Though, even if you're not so far along on the River story yet, I still wouldn't consider them very spoilerific - it's just that you may understand a few points better if you watch the excerpts after you finish the series.

here are some blog entry reviews of Firefly, for anyone wanting to get some opinions of the show before the movie release...

Phaedra #1, #2 (edit: sorry Phaedra, I meant to include other people's blogs too, but couldn't easily find them Razz)

crap... I know there were more on my livejournal friends list who talked about it (I'm sure krystyn had a blog entry or two, and a couple of guys, but you can only take the friends list back so far before having to resort to checking individual journals, and then day by day). Is there an easy way to search within your friends list for certain keywords, as far back as whenever? you can google the livejournal domain, but that's for everyone on LJ... bah. I just posted one on my blog as well.

Just an idea, if you've got a review or commentary about the series, post a link here... let's see what people think of the series, keep some discussion going maybe Smile

I just finished watching the series, and I liked it, nay, loved it enough to go buy it on DVD, and I will strap my friends to chairs and make them watch it with me. Top three episodes were definitely 1. Out of Gas 2. The Message and 3. Objects in Space, with honorable mention going to Our Mrs. Reynolds just because it was so hilarious.

Man, I'm looking forward to this movie with the kind of restless anticipation I had for Sin City and the LotR movies.

"The Message" made me sob like a baby, too. But for sheer funnies: "Our Mrs. Reynolds."

Best Firefly episodes

I thought Objects in Space was the best episode until the DVD came out and I saw The Message. What a passionately well-done episode.

Oh yeah, I wrote this awhile back about Firefly.

Spoilered just in case:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
On the little documentary, "This is the way it was," the composer says that the lovely music in the final scene of "The Message" wasn't really for the scene itself -- it was his farewell to the series." I can't watch that part without blubbering, now. Sad
