the full story is here.

SweClockers is a major technology news site based in Sweden.

the article is in Swedish, but there are lots of nice pictures!

i'll speak with the author about a translation.

a big "Välkommen" to all our Swedish friends. Smile

Can anyone here translate Swedish to English? If so, check out the article:

sorry to jump the gun on you, marc.

i'm just bored tonight. very little accomplished today and I know I have a busy day tomorrow..

on top of that, i've got a puppy (yes, a puppy!), and he has made it his mission in life to pee on the floor at every available opportunity... and chew on anything and everything that he is not supposed to chew on, like shoes, newspapers, coats, and people.

oy.

but i'll save this sort of talk for the salon over at rk..

Translation

Text translated by Dreadlock @ Sweclockers.com

Sometimes you feel a little bit like Arthur Dent - confused, unknowing, feeling like you're lost and with an urge to find answers to simple questions like where, when, how and why. The last days I've been Arthur Dent against my will and I fear that I will stay as him for a long while. If you don't understand what I'm talking about - no worries, since I'm not either and it doesn't really matter since that's the whole point of it which I'll try to prove in this article. As usually when you talk about Arthur Dent, it all happened on a Thursday.

It was Thursday the 8th of May, a date which I will remember as the day that changed my life. I had just woke up, and I looked at my watch and realized that it was about 3 PM. I went down to the kitchen, sat down to eat my breakfast and contemplated what to do with the day. Soon I had my whole day planned - I'd sit with my computer where I'd sit until it was time for bed. Eventually UPS should arrive with a graphics card from southern Sweden, and if it did - I'd take pictures of it and benchmark it since that's the normal procedure with new graphics cards.

Right in the middle of my blurry thoughts regarding graphics cards a large Fedex vehicle drove up to my house, which I had not expected. When you've just woke up, ventually will recieve a UPS package and see a Fedex car in your front yard it can cause your thinking to be somewhar rearranged. It's probably nothing your normally get surprised by, but I did. I did the best I could of the situation, which in my case was to get out of the house, sign for the package and then head back in. It wasn't a grapics card for sure, more like a smaller box with a weight far less than a box of that size normally weighs.

This story isn't about the box.

This story is about what's in it.

The box

Nothing is complicated this far. Someone have sent me and Sweclockers.com a box with Fedex. I don't know what the box contains nur who sent it. To continue the mystery, a quick check of the freigh notes that this someone is a company called Red Kore Communications, and they've sent me the box from Boston, USA

A further inspection of the box and the freight note shows that Red Kore happily have payed 60$ in order to get the case to me. I feel a little bit honoured, more than confused. Does the box contain something important? What does it have to do with Sweclockers? Red Kore Communications? Do they manufactor network hardware? How did they get my adress? Why was it sent to me and not to the headquaters?

If I was surprised before, I became even more so when I read about what the box contained. A puzzle game with a deck of cards? Strange things DO happen when you write reviews for Sweclockers.com, but this takes the price - this far.

No reason not to open the box. Inside I find three jiffybags? I feel a strange urge to check that I'm not catching a feaver since this eiree surrealistic feeling of what's happening is strangly simular to my feaver dreams.

On the front of the bags the text "Enjoy your trips" are printed. Who sends drugs to a hardware page? Furthermore there's some adress information along with a webpage www.redkore.com. I'm now in a state of heavily confusion, and it's going to be worse.

To state the facts already in the beginning so it doesn't come as a chock to you later on - The bags DID contain cards, which was made clear to me when I opened one of them. More about that on the next page.

The cards

The first bag contains the same thing as the second and third - a string with a hook and a sealed bag containing one or more plastic wrapped cards with the lettering 'TELEPORT' printed on them.

With mixed feelings I opened the first sealed bag and found a plastic holder of the same kind as you use to store PCMICA cards in, filled with cards with symbols on them. Also a string and a fridge magnet with two geometrical symbols along with the nuber '1', and a small plastic container. The string is supposed to attatch to the container so you can hang it around your neck and it seems like you're supposed to keep a card there.

TELEPORT - A multidimensional transport system. So it seems to be a game after all.

There's seven objects in the box, and you can see one of them in the picture. What you see is a small piece of paper which tells you which cards the game contains. We have 'ignition' cards, 'data' cards and a copuple of rectangular 'wafer' whatever that is supposed to mean. What is this?

The six other objects are the actual cards. Most of them are made of hard plastic and have the same size as your normal credit card. The rectangular
wafers are made of a softer material. The picture below shows the fronts and the backs of the cards. A bunch of symbols and numbers? What's the thought behind all this?

Conclusion

What purpose does this product serve? What's it all about? Who are Red Kore? How do you use the cards? Is it really a game and if so, how do you play it? Is there some logical pattern of the cards?

This is some of the questions I want to have answered, and I head for the internet to find answers to my thoughs. I start with visiting the www.redkore.com webpage but I don't get much wise from that. I'm greated by a symbol which links to even more symbols - totally different symbols. All of a sudden a face shows up on my screen. Sometimes you get the message 'EMPTY'. I find a page with information (http://www.redkore.com/tel_info/) but once again my questions aren't answered.

1. What is TELEPORT?
TELEPORT is a multidimensional transport system powered by a network of consciousness exploration units, or trips.

Now that really straightened out my question marks did it? The whole page just makes TELEPORT even more wierd. In their webshop you can purchase the cards I've recieved for 20$. You can also buy more wafers. Why are wafers so special? According to their webpage, wafers are to be used but to what cause? Are the cards I've recieved only a part of six? Is it really a game? Information about this can't be found anywhere.

I find a pressrelease (http://www.redkore.com/tel_media/teleport_release_05_02_03.pdf dated may second. Now what is this? Whatever it is, it's something new and I don't really know how to sum this up so I think it's better if you read the text yourself.

I head for their forum http://www.redkore.com/tel_forums/ just to find 50 other members who just like me try to find out what it's all about - what TELEPORT is. The creators of the project, or whatever it is, are constantly avoiding to answer questions regarding the purpose of the game. Sometimes they contradict themselves, for an example that it isn't really a game. It dawns to me that the game is to find out what the game is all about, but I'm far from sure.

I continue my search for information and find more or less paranoid theories what the game is all about. I also find a small text on The Inquirer who also have had the game sent to them. The whole internet as a group appearantly knows as little as I do about the game - and that is zero. In the middle of all speculations, six plastic simbyl cards appears. Very strange.

After many hours of searching, I've only found out two things that could be valuable. First of all TELEPORT doesn't seem like a hoax, but a serious game which is about finding out what the game it self is about. This can crypticly be read in paragraph 1 above, if you cange "trips" to "thoughts and theorys" This is also strengthened by the companys 30-days-money-back-guarantee.

Second of all, TELEPORT seems really cool if it's all about finding out what it's about, and I will definitely try to find more information about the game, the cards and everything else around it.

I could speculate for all eternity about what this game really is, and if it IS a game, what I think and so on. But my guesses aren't better than yours so I'll leave the topic until I find more facts. I suggest further discussions, theories, speculations and ideas take place in our forum (forum.sweclockers.com)

"enjoy your trips"

Of course it's alright for you to clean it up - I mean it's your native language - not mine. But check with bjorn first (the guy who wrote it) if its alright with him.

You can send one free sample of TELEPORT to me Smile

The debate is getting hot over at Sweclockers....
Nobody knows what TELEPORT really is.

If this is a promotion trick, congratulations, you have suceeded very well!
And if its not, you have gained a whole lot of publicity anyway.
