 		I think that origenxbox360.com is in deed a game and it needs to get started again. It is probably part of the ourcolony.net game because the video did mention that our colony will return

 		No, the count down timer is way to close to the expected release date of the Box, I am really very doubting it's going to be anything more then a teaser or a short Non-Arg game.
ILB lasted like 4 months right? I don't remember the time frame but it was more then a week or two. Anyways, what has given us the idea that it is even a game yet? It could be a contest or an intro to a website that will launch the day of Xbox360 release. There haven't been any real clues to solve that led us any where else. Same page, a different angle a week on the picture, and a timeline. That's basically all we have.

Well the release of the xbox 360 is expected for end of November +/- 3 months. Ourcolony.net lasted for 2 months but was a game not an ARG ... This game (Puzzle) isn't an ARG either. But it is a Game none the less and it could be connected with ourcolony.net (hence the video message)

 		That piece of art was the one of the pieces in the remake of "Thomas Crown Affair" wasnt it? When all the businessmen in suits flooded the art museum at the end, i belive they were dressed to represent that piece. Not that its relevant of course. Smile

I think what makes an ARG an ARG (in short) is an interactive story and charactors, and puzzles... usually done on the internet...

Our Colony had:
-puzzles
-an in game character with no interactivity
-no story (that I can remember)

It did feel like an ARG at times but was just a game with puzzles...

That does not mean that this one will be...

Thanks to all you pro's for the tutorial. I was a member of the "private group" that was discussed. I never bought into it, just went along for the ride. You have helped convince the others that "Sarge" was a fraud the entire time. I didn't believe a puppetmaster would select certain posters out of a forum and bring just them into the game. Especially if it was a marketing game, the more participants the more successful it would be. Thanks. Very Happy

Hmm. This is interesting, regarding "Sarge."

I assume that the site itself must be legitimate, or Microsoft's army of lawyers would have descended and made life miserable for whomever was behind it.

So it sounds like your "Sarge" was trying to hijack the game.

Oh, and to those who are snipping -- you don't have to snip everything! Smile It's just if it's a very long post, especially if it has huge pictures in it, it's best to snip when replying. But thank you for your attention to the suggestion. Very Happy

this EXATCT same thing happened in ourcolony. it was a big mess, everyone was arguing, miles of spec got tossed around, and it ended up as two opposing groups on the forums (not these forums) . everyone stopped haveing fun.
when it was all over it turned out that every last "clue", every point of spec, every "ingame" person on AIM/MSN/IRC where all fake or never exsited.

if i learned anything from ourcolony, it's if it isn't obviously in game, it isn't in game. so my advice to all the new folks is.....

only .com is registered to microsoft, and .org & .net weren't registared untill days after .com was discovered. although they might end up being legit i wouldn't count on it.

 		I, too, am grateful for the guidance that the veterans have provided. Those of us in the private group (known informally as The Trusted) did have a lot of fun and don't really feel bad about the hijack since most of us went in eyes-open.

I'm glad these boards are here... thanks to the mods and owners.

 		That would explain why the .org site started pointing elsewhere (to Google sites).

Also explains maybe why we haven't heard anything... 4orty2wo might have some damage control to do...

If you go to .net or .org, the image jumps a bit up and to the right.

If .net and .org are fakes, then even IGN was duped... which is what led many people to the "Skater Boy" group.

Could have been a carefully orchestrated (and pretty convincing... at first anyway) prank.
