Ok I checked out the references to Origen you noticed from The Beast and the article about Martin Swinton. This led me to his home page:

From here I started poking around and found a little half moon on the bottom right of the page that when clicked brings up the following riddle/clue (if you want to call it that as it was very easy to solve).



To which I responded "a fellow of infinite jest". This brought up another page I haven't really had time to look into, so I'm not sure if it has any meaning or not.

I also noticed that if you allow pop-ups on the site you get the now famous notice:

"I'm sorry, but your web browser cannot handle the holographic stream of this web site.

Please upgrade to Earth-Net 39 standard. Provided is a transcript."

Could be something to this, Xbox 360 coming with a web browser popped into my head, but this is just pure speculation.

There is also another pop-up that displays another flash movie of a womans head shifting back and forth with the following text:

- don't 1/2 2 prop a gAt (don't have to propagate?) 1 jelyhed =25x the nuronz in mi brAn.

- approximate # of neurons in human brain: ~10 to the 11th power.

Anyway that's all I got for now until I have more time to look into this.

Does anyone remember this site from The Beast? I know the original martinswintondesigns website was used in that game, but I don't remember this particular part...

also, with the update today, the rabbit on the right with the two holes in it...do the two holes mean anything? are we supposed to use the rabbit to look at something or is it not really a rabbit? I've been rotating it but haven't been able to "see" anything else...

Yes, it was indeed one of the more emotionally resonant sites in the Beast, IMO.

The Martin Swinton site was one of the few I was able to 'solve' on my own before downloading the hundreds of messages from the Cloudmakers mailing list for the day. I felt so clever, being able to search for Shakespeare quotes and read Martin's diary/conversations with Brutus.

I really wouldn't go too far, trying to re-solve all the puzzles at those sites (except for your own personal enjoyment, of course!). Those were all created as a marketing effort for the movie A.I., and, as such, would not likely be available as legal content for XBox to use now, for whatever this campaign is trying to be.

Interesting read about MS interested in a relationship with AOL.

This goes back to the MSN logo (and related) spec and is probably OOG, but may be related on the outside.

I just read an article (either a bill gates one or from either majornelson.com or teamxbox.com) where someone stated that MSN Messenger would not tie into the Xbox 360 service. Come to think of it, I think it was in major nelson's latest pod cast ( http://www.majornelson.com/2005/09/11/show-143-the-packing-for-tokyo-one/) because they run on different systems or something like that...

The "two holes" on the right rabbit appear to me at least to be like bumps where a bolt would be, signifying again that the rabbit is but a 2D object on a stick.
