I wonder if this will go beyond the UK since the prizes are for trips to the US sometime in November(listed in the terms and conditions as pointed to by MSXBOX.com)
Could this just be the beginning of a four week contest? each week a different pair of fruit is ripened and didier gets to trip all over again.
If this will happen then I wonder if other countries or continents will be included?

More speculation on the four week contest thing. I clicked on the xbox 360 logo on the bunny page and came up with the attached web page. four areas are represented.

um, isn't that just the standard XBox 360 website?
as far as I remember it's looked like that for a very long time now.

I agree...it's probably nothing, but here's hoping that it might be right . Part of it too, I can't see them doing a contest only for europe and not for the US...that just seems a bit silly

I haven't been following the xbox 360 dev process but has that xbox 360 site been around for a while? I kind of think the site is cool with it's floating content.
If this little marketing scheme has done nothing else it has brought the xbox 360 back to my attention. and if others feel the same way then the scheme is working.

oh well Unfortuantly i believe its going to be a euro contest only. The us is gettin first release after all so the euros and japs dont get to have it it for awhile longer hence the contest. while i'm dissapointed i find it extremly hard to be mad since never once was the site advertised as anything...it was discovered like it was meant to be. its just people of all countries got wrapped in.
just realize that this was a very clever ploy as far as marketing goes. contests are made to promote. the problem that M$ had to tackle was if they announced an "other than us" contest noone in their home country would pay any attention. They managed to build hype up and coverage and got everyone dreaming about what might be announced about the xbox. i'm sure many went out and preordered the last few systems thanks to this site. as a huge gamer i told my casual gaming friends about the site as well. they become hooked and now are drooling over the 360 waiting to see what's in store. M$ also gained valuable information on what we truly want and are looking for...with our hopes and dreams posted in these forums. they know exactly what to put in their commercials and store displays in order to make the novice gamer who is outa the loop spend $400.
M$ paid for a website and got what would have taken millioins of dollars, pounds, yen, or w/e other currency in order to promote on this level. we were their tools and billboards for xbox 360 just the same as when you wear a shirt that says quicksilver on it.
only thing is M$ didnt have to produce and ship there billboards...just drop a hint to a website and continue to poke the fire. and we all fell for it
i enjoyed it none the less
but then again who knows..? more may well be in store for us...

More to come? Just the beginning?

Possible breadcrumb on additional information. Maybe theyre leaking this early becuase of the initial backlash in the forums?
Apparently you can get to this by eating the orange fruit and then hitting the back button when it finishes. Some people seem to be able to get to it while others (like me) cant.

I really like your idea on MS being able to see what gamers wanted, in a very sly manner. It makes some sense becuase why else would the countdown needed to ahve been SO long.
Anyway , your final comments may prove to be prophetic... here's hoping.

While I live in Japan and I am a North American it is about time that our European brothers and sisters finally get some console lovin'. Every other console so far has been so North America/Japan centric it is rediculous. Generally those gamers in Europe have had to wait from 3 months to a year after a North American or Japanese game release before they get it. The only folks who get the shaft worse are those in Australia/New Zealand or Africa. Good on Microsoft for putting the spotlight on Europe. Lots of good gamemakers over there (Ubisoft, Lionhead Studios, Rare...) who probably feel this is overdue. That being said I hope we can get in on this in later weeks. I truely doubt it'll happen though.
Interesting pic of Master Chief there... anyone found any other .jpgs?

Odd, I got nothing of the sort, and I opted in a long time ago. You don't think it's a UK thing, do you?
Do I get anything for my guess? Awh, come on, I was close...

jumping jesus on a pogo stick! My well assembled and thought out.... errr... thoughts about the Origen site: I feel like I took 5 hits of acid, wanderd into a blender store with a box of kittens, and now I'm watching the horrible aftermath on channel 6 news and wondering "what the F just happend?"

Hoax? Hopefully the lot of you still haven't given up. Even if you are a euro still keep at it plz. this halo jpg may well be a hoax but i wouldnt put it past M$ to still have something in store for us. if ilovebees was successful enough (i never got involved) why wouldn't there be another puzzle for us? they've bought the site...why stop using it for more than just a contest. i still have very high hopes that the innovative minds at M$ are just sitting and grinning as they implant even more hidden items into the site.
the latin phrase and everything adds up of course...except why the msn logo for example? or why the hidden login screen? was the rabbit meant to be the shape of asia?
the nike marathon reference makes sense for the contest...but since M$ released release dates why make it extra cryptic?
after all...M$ is smart enough to play off the failure of ourcolony to their benefit. if we all let our guard down completley...should a halo 3 announcment come along they'll have won!
personally i truly am gonna keep at this site...
btw...check for the halo jpg on IE...idt it works on mozilla...its hard to get a back button no matter what thanks to the site being flash...
