24/8 Scarlett Kite Update

Quote:
The Sentinel had a service this morning to commemorate one of their reporters who died a little while ago - Pietro Salk. I didn't really know him; I met him a few times last time I was interning at the Sentinel, we had lunch together sometimes among a group of people. It was a really lovely service, held in the Sentinel building's atrium, where people just walked up to the microphone to share their memories of working with Pietro. I didn't have anything much to say - I just said a couple of words about how I remember that Pietro would make a point to pick up Julian Blooms for his wife on Fridays, when the ones he grew himself didn't meet his exacting standards. I always found that so sweet - I could tell just by the time he took choosing those flowers how in love he was with his wife.

H'm . . . are Julian Blooms a variety of iris, or are they a completely different flower altogether (i.e., something Perplex City-specific)?

Also, have we solved the "favorite flower" password for Pietro's logfiles yet? If not, I think we might have it . . .

Must be Perplex City-specific. So far, I haven't been able to find any information on "Julian blooms". Could anyone check whether those flowers really exist on Earth or not?

EDIT: Can we actually be sure that the names of flowers and trees are the sames that we use here on Earth? They live in a different world, they could have different species of plants.

Not sure what they have
But we have
'Julian' Carnations
'Julian Orchard' variety of Wallflower
'Mr Julian' daffodils
and quite interestingly
'Julian' Violets

Interesting, there's a new link on Scarlett's site to Scarlett's Story, which is basically just a log of the emails she's been sending. The link is to the right of the picture of Scarlett in the sidebar, and is coloured white to blend in with the background. You can see it if you select the text or if you happen to catch a glimpse of it before the style sheet is fully loaded, as I just did.

Could also possibly correlate to the Gillyflower (or gilliflower, a type of carnation), which is often thought to have been derived from "July flower" (though the most commonly accepted etymology is from girofle, or clove).
