CUBE CONSPIRACY AND MOTIVE

After reading the Scarlett e-mail its finally clickng into place. It seems that the cube is a weapon. That vindenthingy town may have been destroyed by the cube or a weapon where a cube was a part of such a weapon.

It could be that the cube is an ancient weapon and it may have been realised now by the authorities or academy worker who has realised the potential and wanted it missing to hide it from them. What private individual could have masterminded the theft from the academy?

Obviously more digging is needed but this may be the reason for it being stolen and effort must be made to follow the lead, such as chasing up academy workers and links to the authorities. Remember, don't trust those involved and some people may not want it to be found. Immediate actions to take are attempting to find out what happened to Viendenbourg in 5BC to this town and that bloke who was talking to Scarlett.

If so then this whole thing takes on a sort of planet of the apes quality. "They're worshipping an atomic bomb!!!" "They're worshiping a death-cube!!!"

I think its a little different than that. The cube ican be used for either good or bad (ot ir allows you to do it Confused )

There is word that the Cube can create as well as destroy. Hence why some of the religions see it as a building tool.

Now from Violet's blog from the Historical Society meeting that it would seem older religions were interested in geometric shapes. Whether these older religions/people created the cube and buried it for safety (whose the Perplexians or the Cubes?) or it 'fell from the sky' or somesuch is, at the moment, pure speculation.

The secret society seem to see the cube in everything but in what way and the details we need the info from Violet and that book.

I think we are looking at a parallel story to Earth here, What some people would do for religion, or to get hold of a religious artifact.
Our history is a minefield of religious wars and crusades, even in the present.

So it's not a hard stretch of the imagination to believe Viendenbourg was a city destroyed to get hold of the cube, and considering our minimal knowledge of there timeline, maybe Reynolds ionizers where used to do it.

OK i know i've had a lot to drink, and when i wake up tomorrow i'm gonna think this is the biggest load of SPEC i've ever read Wink

After going over the Salk Logs to see where the recent updates fit in, I found this bit of info:
The Salk Logs wrote:
PS: What do you think the Cube does?
TA: Me? I'm just a hired hand. What do I know?
PS: No reason. Just chit-chat. If you had to guess, what would you say?
TA: If I had to guess? I'd say it was a weapon. No one ever fights this hard for anything but a weapon. But then, that's my business. I would think so.
PS: A super-weapon? An uber-weapon?
TA: It wouldn't be the first time, would it?
My edited version, originally from here

Although this tells us no hard facts on the Cube, the bold bit suggests that once a powerful uber-weapon(s) existed - tying into the spec above, could this be connected to Viendenbourgs possible destruction?
