I think ur confused, so far all the suspects seem to be the people living in rm 14 on each floor but they're not all the same person. My favourite suspect is #159: #14 but im not sure if this is correct, someone needs to confirm it.

perplexed, if you check all the floors....all activity looks exactly the same i think. at the same time, the same things happen on all floors...correct me if i'm wrong please. I'm pretty sure the advisor is in room 14

Actually I don't think activity is the same for all people in room 14. On floor 159 the person arrives at 2:30am June 9, but on floor 158 the person leaves at 2:30am June 9. Floor 158 person leaves at the same time as floor 159 person is arriving. I'm going to look closer at the other floors right now.

Ok, I made a mistake. All of the people in room 14 arrive at 2:30 am June 9th 2005. However, their activity is not the same. Some of them use lift 2, and some use lift 3. Heres the data:

159 - L3
158 - L3
157 - L3
156 - L2
155 - L2
154 - L2
153 - L2
152 - L2
151 - L3
150 - L2

Here's all the times the advisor says she's coming and going:

Quote:
DAY 1
25 May 2005 5.38pm
Have just taken a quick jaunt up to the bakery

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

DAY 17
Date: 10 June 2005 6.13pm
It is now precisely 1 day, 15 hours and 43 minutes since I last left my apartment

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

DAY 18
Date: 11 June 2005 10.15am
I'm sitting in the atrium right now

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

DAY 20
Date: 13 June 2005 8.59pm
Am in the bakery right now.

DAY 20
Date: 13 June 2005 9.26pm
OK, I'm back, what is it?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

DAY 21
Date: 14 June 2005 12.41pm
I'm just in the arboretum right now

DAY 21
Date: 14 June 2005 11.22pm
I'm going. I'll be away for 24 hours. I'll be in touch when I get back.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

DAY 23
Date: 16 June 2005 5.15pm
I have just returned home

DAY 23
Date: 16 June 2005 7.32pm
Am going out now

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

DAY 26
Date: 19 June 2005 4.41am
I'll go now

DAY 26
Date: 19 June 2005 4.59am
I got down as far as the atrium, but I had to come back

The thing about room 14: the person never moves, on any fFloor at all ever, fFor the last date. fFrom 4-6AM (at least) the person in room 14 is sound asleep. or at least motionless. Which means they couldnt be the advisor, who gets up, leaves, and comes back 10 minutes later.

or at least she *says* she does... so far we've done all this looking and not really thought about why, what are we trying to achieve? what if the whole point of this is to discover that the advisor wasn't always telling pietro the truth?
on the other hand, there are lots of other things we could be supposed to be finding out from this data, the person walking past her room for example, she was obviously paranoid that she was being watched/followed or she wouldn't have been hacking into the system in the first place, but if we are supposed to be watching people who may be a threat to TA then what can we actually do with the little blobs of heat information we have about them?

rach =)

<PFCMacWalker> Am rewinding for a retrack.
<PFCMacWalker> Whoa, hang on here . . . I just backtraced the second track, and there's a THIRD! This one doesn't move, but stays in the elevator whent he second track leaves!

This sounds very mysterious to me.

Yes, I agree. I would definitely like to see this on the java program, but I can't find it. MacWalker makes it sound like he knows which room is TAs. If so, why hasn't he shared this info with us?

If you found the location of the cube, would you go around telling everyone before investigating it further? There is $200,000 on the line.
I am not saying this will tell us the location of the cube but he may want to look further into what he has found before telling everyone.

Good point, but at this stage in the game, I don't think it makes a difference. Suspect rooms for me right now are rooms 7 and 9 if anyone has any info on those.

The person in room 7 does (although returns a couple of minutes later than the logs would suggest, but the 4:59 message could have been sent from her key while she was still in the lift on the way back).

Room 7 also fits the logs for June 10, but not for June 16. It looks to me like a lot of these rooms deliberately have some of the same movements (maybe modified by TA so that only people who knew her actual room number could find her).

And you missed this one for Day 17:

Yes. Which is why I'm going right now. I can't carry on like this.

This is all most interesting. Unfortunalely for me the Java program crashes whenever I enter a valid floor number.

Can anyone run it in Windows98, or is it just my computer?

Only had a quick look at this last night, and was checking out floor 159 (as perplexed has identified this as a candidate). Was just looking at the first day (25 May) as the Advisor goes out to get her Lime Life and is back in by 17.37 PM to email Pietro.

Most floors seem to have someone returning to room 14 at this time. I left room 14 on floor 159 running for the rest of the day, and whoever is in room 15 comes and visits room 14 at about 20.55 in the evening. Actually they just come in and stand in the front room for a while, while the occupant of room 14 stays in the bedroom. Kinda creepy.

I suspect though that this rules out floor 159 as (as far as we know) the Advisor wasn't getting visitors.

The other room 14s on other floors don't seem to get this visit.

It must be something about your computer. It runs slowly on my win98 computer, but then I don't have 512mb of ram so that isn't surprising.
Have you tried updating your java installation? I'm currently using java version 1.5.0_02
You can download the current version of the JRE here.
